Hypothetical question:
What do you think the score would be if Exeter had not had the red card?
I think, given the performance, Tigers would still have won, but it would ~30 to ~20.

Almost a shame we couldn't have hit 70

Brilliant effort from every single player. Outstanding effort from the team!

Contemponi as a backs coach would really be something along with the forwards coaches we have...

Our defence was really excellent today. We sometimes pushed them back 50 metres!

We would still have won by 20 without the red just smashed them up front.
Young locks and centres excellent.
Shows how much we need to keep West superb for 70 plus minutes

Him and Cronin are very similar, superb standard, we’re so lucky to have two LH like that in the 23. I wouldn’t swap them for Genge at this stage tbh.Rugbygramps wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 5:03 pm We would still have won by 20 without the red just smashed them up front.

That is a superb win, I thought the game was going to be a tight affair and we’d just get over the line.
My word, can’t remember us sticking 60 on a team before……what a performance.
The red card was a farce tbh, you’ll see challenges like that every week go unnoticed and I don’t agree with it, however we’ve been on the wrong end a plenty of this woods of decisions in the past. We’d have still comfortably beaten them today.
Coming into top gear at exactly the right time

My take on the red card for what it’s worth.
Hogg made the initial tackle on Ashton, Woodburn then slides into a player already on the ground, which he isn’t allowed to do, despite what it says in Austin laws book.
That hit helped slide Ashton into touch, given that the end of his boot clipped the line.
Therefore a try would probably been scored without Woodburn intervention. So the 2nd yellow was given because of the penalty try.
If he hadn’t given the first one away when he was no where near catching the ball wouldn’t have been upgraded to red.
As Ben Kay said you can’t start changing the laws for every eventuality

Just wanted to say I thought JVP was very good today and boxing kicking much improved.
