Just re-watched Oakham school win the schools U18 final at Twickenham from last week. They are so a mini-me of Tigers. Forwards game, drive from the lineout, fast defensive line. If you haven't watched them catch up on YouTube worth a watch!!

A full program of fixtures this weekend with Hinckley travelling to Luctonians in Herefordshire, a tough fixture as they are both fighting for fourth place in the league with little to separate them.
The fixture of the weekend is Loughboro' Students travelling to Blaby to meet league leaders Leicester Lions, the Lions need just 5 points to be crowned champions and be promoted to National league 1.

Also just watched the Oakham u18's game, It truely was a Tigers type game having gone in at half time 19-5 down 3 tries to 1.
but the 2nd half was something else, Oakham went for it in a big way which Trinity School cold not withstand & I have to say the pack with their rolling mauls does remind you of a Tigers team in a simular way.
3 tries from mauls & 2 from open play followed by 2 penalty kicks to end the game in Oakhams favour by 31-23 with a try count to Oakham of 5-3.
Well done Oakham in a very good performance (BTW You don't have to go 19-0 down first) You can just do what you did in the semi final & win 39-0.
Felix Starkey 2nd Row & Scrum Half Hopkinson Standout players both worth watching to see how far these 2 can go.

Well done Lions fantastic achievement.
Weird to think that they are now only 2 levels below Tigers though that gulf is huge.
Going to be a big step up for them but really hope they are successful

That team is more than capable of competing at the next level, but they will need to maybe strengthen the squad to allow for injury rotation, you might get away carrying a knock at level four, but the step up to Nat 1 is tough, a challenge I'm sure they will all relish. For now it's to concentrate and keep the unbeaten run to the end of the season, Stourbridge at home this coming week.

Mixed results for the counties National league sides, Loughboro Students ran out comfortable winners against Devon side Barnstaple 38-17, whilst Hinckley seem to have lost their way at the business end of the season going down 17-20 to Bristol outfit Dings Crusaders.
Champions Leicester Lions meanwhile gave relegated Stourbridge from the West Midlands a bit of a beating coming in 53-29 winners to extend their unbeaten lead to 18 games.

Re: Local rugby
Rest week this week in the National leagues, Leicester Lions were due to be travelling to Championship side Coventry for a "community game", but sadly both sides have agreed to cancel it, so no game on offer for those not able to make it to Dublin.
