That’s because he saw it was on , pass was brilliant and Porter needed to move it as we had a 2 on 1 if he had but took it into contact unfortunatelyBge3095 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 31, 2023 10:26 pmNot at all, Freddie only dropped one kick. Did particularly enjoy pollard wanting to give it a go from the22

Re: Edinburgh match.
Not only was it on but Pollard is savvy enough to know that do it once and catch Edinburgh unawares and it stops them dropping extra players back to help their underfire back three in the tactical kicking battle we dominated.Greenwhiteandred wrote: ↑Fri Mar 31, 2023 10:30 pmThat’s because he saw it was on , pass was brilliant and Porter needed to move it as we had a 2 on 1 if he had but took it into contact unfortunately

Bench won that game
Well done all

Re: Edinburgh match.
Just back from the game, great atmosphere even with a number of empty benches and seats.
Hanro, Wiese, Cameron, Montoya all superb. Another quiet but effective Gopperth performance. Great to see Pollard bossing the pitch, and great to see Kelly back on the field.
Actually thought JVP had a poor game tonight, breakdown speed was poor from him caught a few times when he should have got stuck in - he can do so much better than that.
Defense unreal. Not a night for the wingers.

Re: Edinburgh match.
The Edinburgh centre came up into Porters passing lane but was too close to the next tigers player to pas it over the top so I do not think Porter had a choice. Good defence and a sensible decision. Interception that close to our try line and the game is a different result.sam16111986 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 31, 2023 10:33 pmNot only was it on but Pollard is savvy enough to know that do it once and catch Edinburgh unawares and it stops them dropping extra players back to help their underfire back three in the tactical kicking battle we dominated.Greenwhiteandred wrote: ↑Fri Mar 31, 2023 10:30 pmThat’s because he saw it was on , pass was brilliant and Porter needed to move it as we had a 2 on 1 if he had but took it into contact unfortunately
Re: Edinburgh match.
Arguably our bench props may now be our best? Ok they came on after Cole and Cronin had done the first 40.
West seems to be a better scrummager than Cronin and Heyes has been transformed by playing regularly. 10 mins off the bench isn’t enough (a bit like Genge in that respect)
Wiese added impetus off the bench - if only he was English! Martin has to start for England. (The only question is second row or 6)

Re: Edinburgh match.
I think you’re harsh on JVP. I thought he was generally very good. The fact that ball was slow at times was as much down to their class back row. And some of his kicking out of hand was superb. Yes, he did get caught napping at one point, but Freddie also dropped a high ball! It was that sort of night. ‘Poor’ is definitely the wrong word….for any of the players.speedski wrote: ↑Fri Mar 31, 2023 10:41 pm Just back from the game, great atmosphere even with a number of empty benches and seats.

Only in my opinion but if he passes quickly it’s on but that’s not his style and needs to add that to his game - Pollard saw it and it was on but he has a world class eye and delivery/abilityOffside wrote: ↑Fri Mar 31, 2023 10:41 pmThe Edinburgh centre came up into Porters passing lane but was too close to the next tigers player to pas it over the top so I do not think Porter had a choice. Re: Edinburgh match.
It wasn't a classic, but the boys ground out another good result. Felt it could have slipped away from us at 3-6, but Jasper found the sucker punch. A bit porous in the middle of the park, but once we had to defend our 22, the boys stood up massively again.
Tommy Reffell got through an absolute mountain of work. Same for Big G and Cam. Tough day at the lineout, which Cam was calling, but he made himself a real nuisance and will have caught the eye of Scottish fans.
Bit of curates egg from JVP. Flitted from sublime to very much not sublime, but more good than bad.
DK looked fit and hungry. Really important to have him back with the options fluctuating at centre. Think Porter may have broken something...

Re: Edinburgh match.
Lots of comments on social media about the attendance tonight. I would put it around 17000. Views on the fact that it’s Europe and also disgruntlement that we had to pay for tonight when we lost two home games due Wasps and Worcester. But, yay, we got to see Italy B side. And I am particularly looking forward to the free Saints game, whenever that is. Reckon the numbers for that game might reach double figures. Such a shame, because there was a good atmosphere tonight. Bit of an own goal imo.

Re: Edinburgh match.
From where I was sitting it was a dislocated finger as you could see the Medic putting it back and Porter clearly in agony.TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Fri Mar 31, 2023 11:13 pmWigglesworth has confirmed it's a finger injury so probably broken fingerDarc Tiger wrote: ↑Fri Mar 31, 2023 11:02 pm DK looked fit and hungry. Re: Edinburgh match.
JVP tried was poor to much hesitation and indecision getting scragged and turned over and kicked the ball away with a clear attacking overlap. Thought Freddie was average backed himself to often when he should have just done his job and cleared his lines safely. It was a game won by the sheer hard work and dog of our forwards as we offered very little in the backs. That said everyone defended for their lives and our defence was epic. Agreed Hanro, Wiese, Cameron, Montoya were all superbspeedski wrote: ↑Fri Mar 31, 2023 10:41 pm Just back from the game, great atmosphere even with a number of empty benches and seats.
