It does make you wonder just how many clubs are on thin ice, I'm generally an optimistic person but I have a feeling professional rugby is in its death throes in this countryjgriffin wrote: ↑Mon Mar 20, 2023 12:57 pmDown in Exeter for the weekend (Mum's 90th) and lots of talk how far down the financial swannee Chiefs were going until they flogged a lot of their assets, Rowe paying the losses has run out. The crowds are thinning out as well, probably given the prices. My siblings gave up their STs last year but remain fans. My youngest brother, who lives 50m from the suspension bridge into Sandy Park, has moved in with his girlfriend and rented his house out to Chiefs - billeting 3 Chiefs women there and lining his pockets with £££wigworth wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 5:18 pm What clubs could really afford him? I am guessing most would already have already had plans as to what they wanted to do in the coming offseason before the two the clubs blew up so would have had to pivot hard to try and sign him. The only club that really springs to mind is Exeter and Baxter has said they are tightening the purse strings for the coming seasons.

Even Sugar Daddies have a bottom to their pockets....unless their home is a Gulf State.

Only question was going to be whether NZRU had the stones not to hire someone with international experience or not. If the NZRU didn't hire him then someone else would have.TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Tue Mar 21, 2023 7:41 am https://twitter.com/AllBlacks/status/16 ... ekxDw&s=19
Robertson confirmed to the All Blacks
Be interesting to see how his assistants are going to be as there was some rumours that he wanted McDonald the head coach of the Blues to head up the attack but Scotland are rumoured to have shortlisted him to replace Townsend (if they don't renew Gregor).
His forwards coach from the Crusaders joined up with NZ last year so he'll probably remain in post.

Skosan leaving Saints at the end of the season, shame it didn't really work as he was top draw at the Lions

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2022
Despite his impressive performance in the semi final last season he also averaged 0.6 tries a game, down to 0.4 this season as he's fallen down the pecking order. James Ramm is no doubt cheaper, younger and has taken the starting berth Skosan held last season.

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2022
For the right price (the ever vital disclaimer) I'd certainly consider Skosan at Tigers.
It's sounding like Watson may be returning to LI, sadly. Ashton hasn't hit the heights this season. Saumaki barely featured. Kini I think is injured. I'd be very surprised if Browning stays. That leaves:
11.OHC, Bassett
14.Potter, Simmons
15.Steward, Shillcock
I'd hope we might extend Brown through to Xmas as RWC cover. That still leaves numbers needed on the wing though.
An experienced and very fast wing such as Skosan would add to that group.
I'd be eager to keep Kini for his power and versatility. He'll be 34 this season so as a back three player won't be earning massive wages. That will likely hinge on whether his absence has been injury or selection related though.

Thomas Du Toit to Bath for next season.
