Be interesting to see how our lock combination go, they are both big lads our future hooker shouldn't struggle to find them at lineout time.

Ah thanks RB. Didn't spot that. Saw your earlier post saying 2-6 all Tigers, and just skimmed the Sam post.RagingBull wrote: ↑Wed Mar 08, 2023 8:26 pmWe signed him for next season hence "future"Scuttle wrote: ↑Wed Mar 08, 2023 8:24 pmSorry, am I being dim. Re: U20's 6 Nations
England looked good for the first 15, but France defence was strong and England dropped the ball every time they got into the 22. France grew, and England tired very quickly - Carmichael and our 10 in particular looked out on their feet after 30 minutes.
Absolutely torn apart in the scrum a few times and the forwards were regularly driven back in the tackle.
France looked increasingly fitter, stronger and more skilful as the match went on. Their 9 was exceptional, and they had Henry Tuilagi's 23 stone son off the bench!

Re: U20's 6 Nations
Woodward won't be far off senior rugby really.
Could see him at 12 for Nottingham then for us v Saints on the 17th and 28th.
Wouldn't mind seeing all these lads get time v Saints
Something like
1. Van Wyk, 2. Vanes, 3. Hurd
4. L.Chessum, 5. Snyman
6. Carnduff, 7. Ilione, 8. Jansen
9. Whiteley, 10. Gopperth
12. Woodward, 13. Cusick
11. Saumaki, 14. Simmons, 15. Murimurivalu
16. Dolly, 17. Meill, 18. Hoyt
19. Green, 20. Manz,
21. Edwards, 22. Meredith, 23. Cokanasiga

Definitely the sort of team I'd be looking for, my only question is which Manz brother gets the 20 shirt?RagingBull wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 5:53 pm Woodward won't be far off senior rugby really.

I think some parts of selection will depend on contracts for next season, for example Vanes will get the nod over Taufete'e if he's off.
I would kind of like to see how Wolstenholme gets on, what I saw of him at Wasps impressed me, but if he's already going elsewhere next season I do get why we're focusing on those we'll have.
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Re: U20's 6 Nations
England go down in Cork but played very well. Man sent off for a tip tackle and down to 13 at one point.
Chessum was a force at the lineout. The two centres excellent, Woodward included. Theo-Thomas was very good. Carnduff the blindside is also a quality player- real promise.
Fisilau the openside was brilliant- England need tight-heads but have a wealth of opensides. Rivaled Carnduff for mom.
Ireland were well drilled. The number 8 Brian Gleeson is good and Prendergrast pulls the strings with a lot of class, not sure about his goal kicking mind.
Lots of chat about the pathway at the moment but England do have players coming through. There are good players but not many in the positions we need.
No dominant tighthead although the number 8 Cunningham South has promise.

Re: U20's 6 Nations
I had to turn off. She sounded like Mrs Doyle the tea lady from FatherTed, except instead of "Will you have a cup of tea" she just kept repeating "Brilliant" every time Ireland got near the ball.
I used to sit near a stalker and we want him back "kick for the corner!!!!"

It would be good to see that 23 in action Raging Bull
