Shocking! (In the sense of one player trying to injure another)

It’s a legitimate comment given the ruling on this case given what happened. Roy Keane another example. I’ve never liked the excuse what happens on the pitch stays on the pitch when it’s crossed the line.

Rob Hawkins did not suffer the same level of life changing that this lady has.

Indeed it is. It could be a very important precedent case too. Reading earlier reports I remember that both the referee and I think the RFU had said there was nothing wrong with the incident.
Her barrister Geoffrey Brown pointed out: 'The tackle was a legitimate one in the eyes of the match official and both RFU officials charged with reviewing such matters.

This could now change everything. And although I have empathise with the difficult job of the match official, the video/photo evidence is shocking. And more importantly, this is why people leave the game; you can't control the out of control idiots you might end up playing against.

For anyone who wants to read the full judgement. Ed Morrison was an expert witness for the injured player, Tony Spreadbury for the defendant.

Seems the latter very much changed his tune under cross examination in court.

It's a game that should be hard.
This would seem the behaviour of an angry psychopath.

Even combat sports have rules and boundaries.

Collision sports have risks but no player should be expected to be subject to violent thuggery.
We saw the Hawkins incident that should have lead to a life ban. This was a different level again.
