The praise for Saracens is overdone; 2 tries of theirs came from really terrible mistakes of ours.

This blew my mind. I thought he was setting up a dummy box kick to kill time, then he kicked it!!!

Sorry to moan but I thought the decision making in that second half, especially from our senior backs, was atrocious. Really poor

That 2nd half was absolute torture, but unbelievable last ditch defending to cling on.

Have to find a way of stopping these drop-offs, but can't fault the effort.

Brown is this season's Ashton. Looks fit as a fiddle.

Hands up those who thought we'd get pasted today? :smt006

Amazing goal line defence at the end. Awful game management with a minute to go but you know what, it worked out in the end.

The way we've lost games this year we'd have got turned over and they'd go the length and score if we went for the corner. Should have kicked for goal to deny them a LBP though. Hey ho, a win is a win, even with Mainwaring and co in the back line!

Test match level goal line defence.

Exactly!

Edit: Phew!!!!!!!
No Austin was spot on. There was two reasonable options. Kick for the corner and roll the dice from 5m out or kick the three and deny Sarries the LBP. Just kicking the ball out was poor game management, we should have been sharper than that.

Some real positives from that game. Defence was improved and for 25 mins we played really nice attacking rugby. Great to see. Having both Martin and Liebenburg on the park at the same times gives us so much more work rate and physicality. I'm being won over by the idea of moving Martin into the row to facilitate both being on the park.

Mike Brown answering those of us questioning whether he still had it in style. Well played that man. I thought Gopperth was pretty good in the main as well.

Not to mention forward passes......though we had a foot in touch not given so some justice.

I think he’ll be better for us than Ashton on that showing.

He’s got that abrasive/aggressive edge that we’ve missed since Maroni left. Hopefully bring the best out of Steward too

The foot in touch wasn't missed it was to far back in the phases of play to be considered.
JG was okay apart from the pass he threw that allowed lewington to go the length to get his try
