Just seen this.. chances of a citing for Tipuric?
That's a bad one,should definitely be a citing
Looks bad but as with any of these things need to see the video as a still image doesn't give the full detail. Need to see how that hand gets there and the type of movement going on.
Found a video of it on Twitter now

Looks like he's trying to hold the ball up but misses and grabs his head instead.

Agree, unfortunately the law doesn't state anything about intent, if you grab that area then you should be cited

Makes it reckless contact with the face area instead of gouging, probably not exactly the right terminology but would mean a much smaller sentence.

Yeah contact with the "eye" Low End starts at 18 weeks (so min ban with 50% reduction is 9 weeks)

Contact with "eye area" Low End starts at 4 weeks (so min ban with 50% reduction is 2 weeks)

According to the DT there is a chance that Steward will be rested this weekend with Watson (or Malins) given a chance at 15.

I think that's a fair call, Watson at his best is a brilliant attacking FB and excellent under the high ball. Let's see some real pace in the back 3 for the Italy game, they will be no pushovers.

Surely SB will also now give up on the Faz/Smith axis and revert to Farrell and two others, my preference in the absence of Kelly would be Manu and Lawrence, let's unleash some real power in the centres..........

Jack Willis also seems nailed on for 7, quite rightly, he's been outstanding for Toulouse.

Personally I would also put Mitchell on the bench and send Youngs back to Tigers, he's got a much quicker service and brings more energy.

So for me this week I think we see

Genge
George
Cole
Itoje
Chessum
Ludlum
Earl
Dombrandt
Mitchell
Farrell
Manu
Slade
OHC
Watson
Malins

Of course as is tradition with Borthwick I don't expect to be too close.

I read Watson had been left put of the reduced squad and sent back to club along with Youngs and Curry. Mind you it was the BBC !

Watson may be an attacking full back but historically flaky under the high ball at international level.
Much safer on the wing.
