Not unless he leaves after his short term contract, goes elsewhere and then comes back, otherwise he would just be migrating from player to coach

As if that would ever happen at TigersCagey Tiger wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 2:43 pmNot unless he leaves after his short term contract, goes elsewhere and then comes back, otherwise he would just be migrating from player to coach

Joe Cockanasiga has signed a new deal at Bath. Does that impact the Hassell-Collins move I wonder , as there were rumours that Big Joe was returning to Irish.

Don’t think so. More than one source says that Hassell-Collins is a done deal.westwinds31 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 6:11 pm Joe Cockanasiga has signed a new deal at Bath. Does that impact the Hassell-Collins move I wonder , as there were rumours that Big Joe was returning to Irish.

I wonder if Parton moving on has allowed Irish to up their offer. Maybe also now he's higher up the England pecking order he feels able to stay at Irish.
Signing Bassett and OHC would be interesting.

Yes but wouldn’t surprise me if Ashton and Saumaki are off.Hot_Charlie wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 8:54 am I wonder if Parton moving on has allowed Irish to up their offer. Maybe also now he's higher up the England pecking order he feels able to stay at Irish.

Ashton almost definitely. We've also lost Nadolo which should cover the recruitment of OHC.ay2oh wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 9:14 amYes but wouldn’t surprise me if Ashton and Saumaki are off.Hot_Charlie wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 8:54 am I wonder if Parton moving on has allowed Irish to up their offer. Saumaki, will depend on what he's like at training and what offers he has on the table. I suspect he's fairly cheap and seems a quiet and humble bloke. Could be a good squad man to retain as we don't have wingers coming through the academy. Ditto Murimurivalu, though he also brings a shedload of experience and has been mentioned as bringing a feel good factor in camp.
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2022/23 - Prisoner of Oadby Pre-Season
Think Kini signed a new deal recently but Saumaki never seems to make the 23 so bit of a luxury if we’re not playing him.sam16111986 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 9:30 amAshton almost definitely. As opposed to squad slots and money, it's the fact you're be trying to recruit two players who almost exclusively play in the same position and are used to starting for their current (Premiership) clubs.sam16111986 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 9:30 amAshton almost definitely. OHC is an out and out starter, not sure you can say the same for Bassett, certainly behind Lynaugh & MurleyHot_Charlie wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 2:03 pmAs opposed to squad slots and money, it's the fact you're be trying to recruit two players who almost exclusively play in the same position and are used to starting for their current (Premiership) clubs.sam16111986 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 9:30 amAshton almost definitely. Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Yes OHC would be a starter for us while Bassett would be a great squad option and international coverTigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 5:12 pmOHC is an out and out starter, not sure you can say the same for Bassett, certainly behind Lynaugh & MurleyHot_Charlie wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 2:03 pmAs opposed to squad slots and money, it's the fact you're be trying to recruit two players who almost exclusively play in the same position and are used to starting for their current (Premiership) clubs.sam16111986 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 9:30 am

OHC would be our first choice winger, followed by Potter, Bassett and then either another new signing or one or two of Murimurivelu, Saumaki or Ashton.
