Mike Brown has been on a trial with us. Always liked him, not sure what he’s got left in the tank at 37 but I’ve a feeling we’re about to find out.

Short term to cover 6 nations and maybe the World Cup would be a good deal

If Burns leaving early has afforded us Westley and Brown it does make sense. Fullback we needed a player, but we also needed a Scrum half so that makes sense for me.

In terms of Brown, we only have the most recent info to go on, when he was at Newcastle, where he wasn’t exactly carving up. Foolish to write him off though, we have no info on his fitness etc he may surprise you.

Tigers were advertising for someone new to don a mascot costume. Like many I assumed that they just needed someone new for Welford, but maybe it's for a newbie
