Hinckley slip down to 5th but have a game in hand over the top three, but gaps are beginning to open.

Well done Lions, keep going and they will be 2 leagues behind Tigers, though they will always be Westleigh to an Old Gate man like me.

Re: Local rugby
Good side Redruth, always in the mix for promotion, they were favourites last year and lost the last game at Blaby against the Lions and failed to go up, I think it was by one or two points, Lions travel down there in March when no doubt Redruth will be looking to pay the Lions back.longlivethecrumbie wrote: ↑Sat Jan 14, 2023 7:36 pmThere's some travelling there! Double header yesterday league and County Cup game.
Lutterworth 7 Market Harborough 15
Fantastic fully committed game, on a heavy pitch in a gale, credit to both sides. MH continue their remarkable away form with 8 wins from 8 games. It was Lutterworth's only home defeat of the season.
Looking forward to seeing Market Harborough in the final at Welford Rd!!!!

Re: Local rugby
No. He's the forwards coach and made a few appearances off the bench earlier in the season.
But he's now firmly hung up his playing boots and put on his drinking boots

Re: Local rugby
For those of you who will be kicking your heels on Saturday, there's a tasty local derby when Hinckley take on Loughborough Students at Hinckley's ground, both need to win if they are to have a chance of trying to catch Leicester Lions at the top of the league.
Leicester Lions travel away to Dings Crusaders in Bristol, a team who currently lie in 4th position in the Nat 2 West league, so again both sides will be battling for the points.

Only three matches survived in National 2 West, the local derby at Hinckley one of the casualties. Leicester Lions had a close but vital win away at promotion rivals Dings Crusaders in Bristol, seeing them still nine points clear of second place Clifton.

Re: Local rugby
In other news all three county sides in the National league two won today, Hinckley had a decent away win at bottom side Stourbridge and the Loughboro' Students also had a decent win at home to Newport (Salop). Leicester Lions continue their impressive run beating Bristol side Old Redcliffians, who are incidentally a certain Ellis Genges' old club, with a bonus point win at Blaby. Lions remain in top position, Hinckley are 5th and the students 6th.
