SB & Co have made some big calls in squad selection. It will be interesting to see who makes the 23. I sincerely hope Old King Cole gets a start even if it's off the bench. :smt023

Dan Richardson photographed training with the 1st team squad. What side does he prop.

My, he must be a big chap to reach both sides of the hooker.

Richardson is primarily a Loosehead, who covers Tighthead. I've been impressed when I've seen him play.

Him and Leatigaga actually both played together in the PRC and swapped sides between scrums at one point
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Wonder if Cronin is injured and we may see him on the bench behind Whitcombe

I can't find the link now - it might have been Simon Thomas on Twitter (Welsh rugby journo), but apparently Rhys Webb is out of the game for the Ospreys, along with Ethan Roots (a SR/BR I believe) but Kieran Williams (recently included in the Wales 6N squad) is fit again for the Welsh side.

Webb is a big loss for them I think. Centres a strong side with George North, Joe Hawkins and Kieran Williams alongside others!

Hoping for a positive gameplan, we look a better team at present when we try to play.

Another good 60+ from Pollard & hopefully a decent amount of game time for Illione. One of the SH's who will have to play during the 6Ns has to be involved.

For me even if fit Montoya & Wiese should have another week of rest.
To win is not as important as playing with style!

Would have Montoya and Wiese on the bench if available to give them some game time before the Saints fixture.

Agree with WRFC and Tigerbeat - if we have Montoya and Wiese fully fit (not 90-95%, fully match ready) then they come onto the bench for some minutes. For me, so does one of Wolstenholme or Edwards - harsh on JVP or Lenny but we have to get one of our 9s minutes when they will likely play at least 55-60 the following week.

For me, all the England boys start if fit (aside from 1 Tighthead and 1 scrum half) and the if we have players likely to start vs saints who aren’t in the starting 15 here, they are on the bench for me. So the likes of Edwards/Wolstenholme and Hurd/Leatigaga/Richardson and Atkinson and Gopperth/Cokanasiga etc.

Aside from Atkinson, and Gopperth last week, the others there have had none/very few minutes recently. We don’t want them to be match rusty.

Who would be a coach such a difficult balancing act. Top 4 in the pool is all important realistically only Ospreys and Stormers can overtake us, Stormers have Clermont at home so you have to feel that’s a 5 pointer so they will end up on 15 points.
Really need the win so would agree with others go as strong as possible without risking anyone, and Wiese, Montoya on the bench if available.
9 is an interesting one if we are serious about progressing for me start with JVP with Lenny on the bench.

The bookies currently have us as 11 point favourites for the match, not sure I am quite that confident but they seem to have faith we will do well.
