The coaching team knew Ford was leaving over a year ago & that Pollard realistically wouldn't really be available until the end of November, we didn't appear to devise a plan of attack with Freddie at 10, he looks like a bloke caught between 2 stools.

I wonder who is picking up the mantle of defence coach now? Each defence coach has their own philosophy - even if it's just slightly nuanced from the next coach. Will they be able to continue to coach that same defensive style as Sinfield has spent the last two years drilling into the players?

I suspect that is why Matt Everard, who has been defence coach at Wasps (along with at various points attack and skills coach there) was now listed as a senior team coach (when we originally signed him it was as part of the academy setup) so he's moved into the Senior Squad coaching with Kev's departure. That said he could be covering attack post Wigglesworth's move to HC.

I just find it curious that SB and Sir Kev didn't leave AFTER the Glos game; start on Jan 1st. I mean, what are they going to do in the next 10 days that couldn't be delayed until then?

He’s going to spend every minute for the next 47 days working hard so England are in the best possible position come the Calcutta Cup game.

So am I. I am very angry and sorry to lose SB and Kev to England. I am most angry RFU let Jones hang on so long. Borthwick is going to have a major task to make England fit for the World Cup and it may be a poisoned chalice.

Well its been a couple of days since the confirmation that both Borthwick and Sinfield have left to take up position with England. Disappointed to see them leave of course but coaching an international side must be a coach's ambition. Brave though as demonstrated the blazers couldn't organise a :censored:-up in a brewery. I hope they are both getting well paid.

To play devil's advocate is it wrong and should the RFU be blamed to extend job offers to Borthwick and Sinfield?

In the same vein was it wrong and should Borthwick and Sinfield be blamed for accepting
the RFU job offers?


Was it wrong and should the club be blamed for letting them both go?

Why does their have to be blame? They have done a wonderful job here but are two proud Englishmen and their country came calling (no doubt offering substantial pay rises at the same time). It's was dealt with amicably by all parties.
