Number of points here. Scott makes a valid point about Mrs Smith on the minimum wage but she stands a much better chance of getting another job quickly than a professional rugby player.
Re the points as has been pointed out Worcester have already been removed from the table and their games declared null and void, so almost certainly the same will happen with Wasps.

Re Tigers finances, all rugby clubs from Premiership down are struggling given COVID, the current financial situation etc. including Tigers. The 3 big advantages we have over others are our very strong supporter base, the fact we own our own ground, and despite the financial run in, we do have a very strong brand known throughout the rugby world, to attract sponsors

When Gloucester had their match against Worcester cancelled, it was stated that the lost revenue would be c. £400k. I guess that would be a similar loss for cancelled Wasps match.
Tigers may be facing a bigger loss, as our gates would have been bigger, certainly against Wasps. Hopefully we can find a friendly to fill the gap. Someone suggested a Barbarians type fixture, which would be a good fill in.

RFU confirm Wasps suspension from the league.

Wasps suspended from Premiership and set to enter administration 'within days'

https://www.bbc.com/sport/rugby-union/63232043

Couple of point in there now…mainly they need administration to have any hope of a swift deal.

“Wasps' decision was taken after revealing they have "insufficient cash" to carry on operations without new investment. Interested parties were asked to provide "bridging finance" to bide the club enough time for "a solvent solution" to be found. “

Seeing Heineken mentioned as having been in and removed stock they hadn’t yet paid for really isn’t good - given that impacts the venue side more than anything.

Bleak.

Exeter playing a friendly against Bristol in replacement of the chiefs game wasps have failed to fulfil this weekend.

Makes sense that all points scored by and against the two teams are eradicated from the table. On the plus side for those teams that have played home fixtures against W & W, at least they have the revenue from ticket sales and catering. We are now facing three weeks (including our bye week) of no income which is surely going to sting for the club.

If not burst it's like a balloon that's been inflated for about 3 weeks.

The model we have is not perfect, but it is the people at the top of these two clubs that have dragged them into the mud, their players, staff and fans have been shafted by what looks like crooked behaviour, if the allegations printed against them are true. With real due diligence checks in place this kind of thing can be reduced if not removed from the game. 11 teams is the problem, I for one would promote the club who wins the Championship at the end of the season.

Baxter reckons 10 clubs......would less clubs give scope for less games during international periods?

Worcester and Wasps are quite large outliers with unique circumstances to use them as example of the game overall suffering a catastrophic failure.

so do I take it there will be no relegation at the end of the season for the team finishing bottom of the league?

I think it happened years ago but everyone was too busy sticking their heads in the trough to notice.
