I'd go with ABC on this and try to pick up Shillcock from Wuss. Very underrated player, comfortable at 10 and but primarily a 15 and would be cheaper than both Atkinson and Umaga. Ideal Hegarty replacement.

If Burns were opt to go next summer then Atkinson would be a good target. He can also slot back into 15 if required. Umaga I just don't think he'd fit what we want at 10.

If Wasps go under, Sam Spink could be the real moneyball pick in the centres. He seems to have really bulked out and he carries with some venom.

I may have missed it but nobody has mentioned picking up Van de Mewe from Worcester. Quality player who could partially fill a Nadolo size gap.

Guess that he would be very expensive and probably only a French club would be able to afford him.

I'd prefer to take Olly Hartley from them. Played 15 against us in the PRC (his kick created the first score) but is an inside centre by trade. 6ft4 and 15 stone at 20. Has played England age grade. I can't say I rate Spink that highly.

Seb Atkinson at Wuss might be another one worth a punt. He's played some Prem rugby and at 20 is another we could develop up.

Already joined Edinburgh. I do agree though, would have been ideal, if expensive

Thank you not surprised he has gone north of the border.

With Pollards injury and the issues at Centre the boy Willliams from Worcester would be perfect for a return to the tigers, must have the option of injury dispensation.

Loosehead is an area that needs strengthening

Williams is no better than average and offers nothing apart from a big boot.

Going to Ulster til the end of the season. The SRU then expected to take him back to Scotland

Would be a better option than the aging Gopperth, mind!

I'd actually argue that. If you put Owen in the depleted XVs and midfields Gopperth's been in so far I think he'd have struggled similarly. They have quite similar weaknesses to their game IMO.

Gopperth has had some poor performances in a so far brief Tigers career but they've come in XVs with obvious flaws that run deeper than Gopperth. Lacking carriers, missing our best centres, depleted back three with out of position Ashton at fullback, limited bench impact in several games, etc.

Last season we had very good availability as a whole. That's not just luck of course. Good recruitment, S&C (Sir Aled), rotation, etc goes into it. Luck also does though. Ford getting dropped by England for instance not only gave us an international 10 but meant Burns could cover 15.

Availability so far this season has been far worse and with it the XVs have been as well.

This would be excellent, if true. We could easily lose Watson and Steward to England, and the idea of JG at 10 and Burns at 15 fills me with fear. Even worse now if one of them got injured. We could theoretically put Ashton at 15 but he does not fit SB's kicking game. Shillcock is a really good player and IMHO would fit in well.
