Re: Wasps still in the mire
Am I reading it correctly that Wasps are trying to put something together to deal with the HMRC bill, and that the bond issue is a different matter entirely?
Re: Wasps still in the mire
HMRC are likely to be the biggest and first battle that Wasps will have to deal with I would expect.......they will be top of the list for any payment and could liquidate the club if no payments were forthcoming, similar to Worcester.Rugbygramps wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 10:53 am Am I reading it correctly that Wasps are trying to put something together to deal with the HMRC bill, and that the bond issue is a different matter entirely?

Still digging for a solution it seems, but as Wuss were relegated, can't see how Wasps can avoid the same process.

Re: Wasps still in the mire
His line today was more around should the league allow a club with the history etc of Wasps to be relegated if they go into administraton? Basically one rule for Wuss and one for Wasps....wigworth wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 4:32 pmHasn't he been saying there will be a deal next week for the last 4 weeks though.longlivethecrumbie wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 4:28 pmDayglo appears to think otherwise........tigerburnie wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 2:25 pm Still digging for a solution it seems, but as Wuss were relegated, can't see how Wasps can avoid the same process.

Well he would say that wouldn't he.... then again so would we probably if it was Tigers.longlivethecrumbie wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 4:54 pmHis line today was more around should the league allow a club with the history etc of Wasps to be relegated if they go into administraton? Dayglo's face if Wasps went belly up would be a delight....in their own way they are as badly run as Worcester.
To win is not as important as playing with style!

Absolutely agree. Gambling on moving to a completely different (and not neighbouring) county and gamble on taking on a stadium way in excess of their needs was just bonkers. Then to screw over their own fans with the bonds. Let's be honest, they were never going to be able to pay them back - COVID or no COVID!Wayne Richardson Fan Club wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 8:22 pmWell he would say that wouldn't he.... then again so would we probably if it was Tigers.longlivethecrumbie wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 4:54 pmHis line today was more around should the league allow a club with the history etc of Wasps to be relegated if they go into administraton? Re: Wasps still in the mire
The problem is not that a once great wasps team has gone to the wall, rather it is around 100 ish (?) people losing their jobs, through no fault of their own. I don’t suppose Dallaglio mentioned them , or their counterparts at Worcester.
