He did a good job of lowering his own price tag last night.

Or Gopperth & Ashton maybe or WW.

Moroni is the best 13 I have seen play for Tigers for many a year.

As for Sinckler I wonder if his back is still not right.
To win is not as important as playing with style!

For my money we had three world class backs last season Ford, Moroni and Steward. To lose Ford may be regarded as unfortunate, but to also lose Moroni looked like carelessness. Thank goodness we didn’t also lose Steward.
Slightly off topic but Nadolo was unplayable for much of the first 3 months too
Tbf he was unplayable till his wife had a miscarriage and she nearly died also. He then had a layoff and when he came back his fitness and match sharpness didn't seem quite there (completely understandable). Also given those circumstances his return to home and family is just as understanable
Yep - wasn’t going to mention that wider situation but I completely agree, he will be a massive miss for us when he leaves mid season

If memory serves we got Moroni on the cheap initially, but to have kept him we would have had to spend considerably more, which would have meant possibly losing a Porter or a Kelly, for another Southern Hemisphere cap who is away for large chunks.
I agree he is a class act, and he and Orlando will make a real difference to Newcastle, but again I believe theirs was the only offer on the table so make of that what you will.
I think it makes sense to have effectively sacrificed Moroni as long as we keep Kelly and Porter but if Kelly leaves (there have been rumours on here nothing more) it would seem odd to lose both in successive seasons.

Guess it’s hard to manipulate things to perfection with different contract end dates but it would be frustrating to lose both.

With Kelly I think it most likely he's already contracted for next season (we tend to give younger players 3 year deals). Us extending Porter in February probably meant a big uplift in wages. Both Porter and Kelly signed a contract just a few months before their England caps but post becoming a first XV player so expect both on good wages. Scott & Gopperth give us 2 very good backups in the centres plus Cokanasiga as a great younger developing option. Plus Pollard is also a genuine option at 12 also.

Watson has come in for Kobus Van Wyk (plus Nadolo part the season) so I think he's from those wages not Moroni's who's gone on the centres.
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

He would have to pay Tigers for him to be of any value to us!
