I think when he signed his last one it had a rolling clause in it. If Tigers announce a new one now then Wales Online will run headlines he's made himself unavailable and then Borthwick or Sam will have to spend time explaining the deal was before his first cap etc. Unnecessarily complicated.TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 8:09 pm Interestingly no Reffell, who based on all reports, has signed a rolling contract so there is likely to be others to come

Given Wales Online published an article saying he signed a new deal just prior to going to South Africa (which the club hasn't announced yet) I'd be very surprised if they ran that articlesam16111986 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 8:29 pmI think when he signed his last one it had a rolling clause in it. Hanro gets the captaincy, quite rightly I say!

Interesting that there's not any 'official' VC's announced. From memory, Hanro was announced as VC last year when Gengey was unveiled.

I think with the number of leaders in the squad you could have list of VCs longer than your arm! Presume with Hanro appointed it won't change regularly, assuming he will move around the back row during the season. Possibly YBY/JVP (Eddie Jones may decide that one) and Montoya may well cover if he's unavailable/rested from the 1st XV.
Who was the other non-English club captain.... oh yeah, that'd be Murphy then!

Wasn't Josh kronfeld club captain for a season?

His time here was purely during Johnno's tenure as club captain I think.glenn wrote: ↑Fri Aug 19, 2022 8:51 amWasn't Josh kronfeld club captain for a season?Hot_Charlie wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 3:34 pmI think with the number of leaders in the squad you could have list of VCs longer than your arm! Am I mistaken as I thought that Guy Porter signed a new contract earlier this year ?

Pat Howard must have been captain at some point mustn't he?

I don’t think he ever was his time as a player coincided with Johnson’s time as captain. May of done the odd game obviously but think his last game as a player was the final v Stade.
Tug boat Kafer arrived the season after

There is a difference between Club Captain & Captaining the team in a match.
To win is not as important as playing with style!

He was club captain during the 2003 RWC period. He is usually in the list of official club captains.

Interesting that in the post match report on the Tigers website they state Jonny Law (ex academy 9) is on loan with Jersey rather than a permanent move.
Not sure if it is accurate or not but can’t recall if he was fully mentioned in the leavers list?
Perhaps like Simmons last year, he is being given a chance for proper game time for a full season?
