Yep, it's potentially a good earner. If you can flog the TV rights and get enough fans in you can more than cover the appearance fee for the international team. If it's PRC games either side then it shouldn't hinder Bristol overly.tjs10inOz wrote: ↑Tue Jul 05, 2022 1:15 pmYes, just as Tigers did when we hosted Australia, South Africa, Argentina, Classic All Blacks etc.Offside wrote: ↑Tue Jul 05, 2022 10:07 am Bears will be buying that game won’t they? Paying SA for appearing as a publicity game to attract / entertain fans. Presumably that spend is outside any cap so fans get something in compensation for league. A vanity project but fine if they want to do it. Is it in their “off” weekend from the Prem? European based SA players will not be included as outside international release window.

Clermont's Damien Penaud is rumoured to be unsettled. Wouldn't it be good to lure him to Tigers, but apparently Racing92 are his probable destination.

I know they've lost a couple players but Racing seem to be on a spending spree recentlyRobespierre wrote: ↑Mon Jul 11, 2022 8:50 pm Clermont's Damien Penaud is rumoured to be unsettled. Wouldn't it be good to lure him to Tigers, but apparently Racing92 are his probable destination.

Bath winger Rokoduguni has been signed by French ProD2 side Montauban.

I've always loved watching Roko play. So much fun at his best with that combination of footwork and power. Perhaps unfortunate not to get more caps in my opinion. Fiji are so strong on the wing but it would be great if Roko turned out for them at some point with the new eligibility rules.Robespierre wrote: ↑Thu Jul 14, 2022 9:57 am Bath winger Rokoduguni has been signed by French ProD2 side Montauban.

Stuart Lancaster could be on his way to Racing as head coach at the end of the 2022/23 season to replace Laurent Travers.

Foster to keep his job but Cane to be dumped as captain apparently. Bit harsh!

No pressure being arguably the greatest 7/captain of all times successor then. I could easily name 6/7 players who havnt stepped up to the mark lately for the AB. I would play Akira/Cane/Savea.Barrett at 6 doesn't work for me.Rugbygramps wrote: ↑Tue Jul 26, 2022 6:06 pmIMO it isn’t he was supposed to be McCaws successor as captain and 7 and hasn’t really reached those heights. Best kiwi 7 is Savea with the Blues lad at 8

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2022
Hughes confirmed himself that he's off to Japan. Rumoured to have turned down a contract from Clermont. Says that he wants to be closer to home and family. Wages for top stars in Japan are good but below that aren't actually mind blowing so it wouldn't surprise me if a player such as Hughes will get a fair bit less in Japan than he would in Top 14.
Presumably he'll try to turn out for Fiji at the RWC as well though he might need to cover lock to do so. Yato, Tuisue, Mata, Botia, Kunavula, Kamikamica. Fiji have plenty of strength in the back row.
Kamikamica is an interesting player. He's not as well known as other Fijian flyers/bruisers but has been consistently very good for Brive and just picked up by Racing. I could see his reputation going up and up at a Racing.

Looks like Ford could be out until 2023
