No point moaning about not getting injured player information - it won't happen.....

English reflex, we get called arrogant as a baseline so when one of ours does something that will add petrol to that fire we rush to condemn.RagingBull wrote: ↑Thu Feb 10, 2022 9:13 am I mean never understood the whole hating the ash splash.
No, not that one!
Remember, whatever you do to the smallest of the backs you do to his prop, and you can't avoid the rucks and mauls forever...
I know you don't like it when I boo him but how else will he know he's wrong?
non possumus capere

Re: Chris Ashton
Ashton has started 10 games in the past 2 seasons so how match fit is he? his difficulty gelling within his past two clubs means how much of a team player is he these days? Ashtons glory days are well and truly over, but would be great if he knuckled down and fitted in to show glimpses of his past genius, fairly sure Borthwick and Jones will make sure of that.
Re: Chris Ashton
Short contract - Is that a metaphor for probationary period???
If its injury cover - experience with a young squad is desirable.
Chris has a certain arrogance ,but gets the job done. A team player??? But SB sees something so I trust that decision.
If we win the Prem ++, Then I for one will be happy if he's part of that success.

Why not bring back Olowefella?
Squad strength not looking so good now with all the injuries and England call ups.

I thing you’re going to have to accept that Olowefelas days are long gone
He'd be welcomed back to play Super Rugby with Western Force in a heartbeat!
He achieved cult status in his short time in Perth, helped of course by a hat-trick against Queensland Reds in only his 3rd appearance.

Straight into the 23!

Shedhead1here.
No mention of the word CASHTON that was eloquently sloshed around this forum over the years - Ouch!
I have no doubt he will score against Glaws coming up.
I really love reading your Forum - seen the film and tasted the food just waiting for the book

Re: Chris Ashton
I suspect he’s on a lot less cash than he has been elsewhere (especially Sarries obviously) ... he’ll take whatever comes in these autumn days I imagine.. don’t think we’ve got a lot to give for a start
Re: Chris Ashton
Ashton a Tiger?
I was...surprised. I mean, I've been high, I've been really high, but I've never been "recruit Chris Ashton" high.
It's almost like Steve Borthwick et al. know more about rugby than I do. Hmmm.
I'll keep the faith and reserve my "Sack Cockers!" comments for when Ashton drops the ball over the line when going for an epic splashdown (which, to be fair, when he kept the ball, I did kinda like!).

Re: Chris Ashton
try saving tackle on his debut, still looks fairly quick and no doubt cheap, in Steve we trust
Re: Chris Ashton
Could it be, perhaps, that although deemed arrogant by some, he was universaly disliked because he was actually quite good at his job and damaged us quite a bit in the past?
Passing on the ability to run attacking lines and poaching a few points wouldn't hurt?

I realised on Friday he looks a lot like Neil Warnock.
Not the only similarity either.....

Re: Chris Ashton
That try saving tackle at least shows he still has the desire, again the yellow card at least shows he was defending right on the edge, Sir Kev will no doubt work on his timing.
