I don't know the rules these days. Perhaps someone with more knowledge like Raging Bull can enlighten me.
It could be actually; I hadn't thought of that

Believe it’s still only 2 so could explain no Moroni but that’s about it

Assuming Moroni, Montoya and Hegarty are our “Foreign players” don’t think all 3 have been in the same team at the same time

Are Pacific Islanders classed as foreign players? I though they came under oner of the kolpak or bosman type ruling so are not classed as foriegn? or has that changed, or I am completely wrong???

Rules are here
https://www.premiershiprugby.com/about- ... t-us/faqs/

HOW MANY FOREIGN OR OVERSEAS PLAYERS CAN PLAY IN THE PREMIERSHIP?

It is important to note that the legal definition of foreign players is different to one of non-English players. In addition, players can fall under the Bosman or Kolpak rule. The Bosman ruling reinforced the Treaty of Rome in a sporting context, allowing the free movement of EU national workers around other EU countries. This effectively means any EU national has the same rights as any ‘local’ worker and therefore cannot be defined as a foreigner.

In the Premiership, the rule on foreign players has been amended to come into line with the regulations in European competitions. A maximum of two foreign players can now be in the matchday 23, at all periods during the season.

Never mind Hegarty, Montoya and Moroni all played together v Bristol so one of those is fine.

Pacific Islanders shouldn’t be affected still.

Do we know if rules surrounding EU players and the Bosman and Kolpak rulings are going to be carried over to the premiership in the long term?

It may explain the Socino not coming on as Montoya and Hegarty were both on if they were the overseas?

Tigers Kick Off Time v Worcester

Post by Ian Cant »

I shall be at Welford Road on Saturday but wondered why Tigers could kick off an hour earlier so we fans could get back home to watch England?
Maybe it’s just me and will just have to record the England game.
On another matter: FANTASTIC news today about the 7 players staying put.

As we are no longer in the EU, do any of their rules apply to the UK sport?
