The competition between Quirke and Randall definitely seems likes it's for the 'finisher' position. Those 2 coming through can only be a good thing as well because there hasn't been a nailed on 2nd choice under Eddie since Care
I think Mitchell is the best of the three

As others have said I really can’t see Lenny going anywhere until after the 2023 World Cup especially with the still relatively inexperienced Smith at 10.
Always been a Randall fan, from his u20 days, though it was always is he big enough. He has proved he is and baring injury I can see him being the finisher

Randall's kicking game is to big a liability for him to test Youngs. Quirke is the likely finisher and only real threat to Youngs.

Would welcome that, though I doubt it unless Edinburgh are getting frustrated at his time on the sidelines.
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

My money is on Quirke as the successor, but he needs a good run of matches and some really good form, otherwise he may slip behind, especially with other like Mitchell making a case.

If Randall goes away and works on his kicking game then it could very much be game on.

Love me some Du Bruin! Have I ever mentioned it before?

Interesting discussion. At the moment Youngs is nailed on starter and imo we are talking about a finisher. For me the pace of Randall and his intelligence gives him the edge there. If Lenny was to get injured totally agree that Quirke has the better all round game to start, or as was mentioned Mitchell, or for the unluckiest of the lot who’s on the telly at the moment Ben Spencer. JVP needs a run of games and get over those confidence drops he has
