I'd imagine Farrell will be kept in the squad regardless of whether he's available for the first game or two.

EJ probably thinks he has enough 10 cover in the squad already with Slade, Bailey, Malins and Furbank. More likely to call up a centre to replace Farrell if needed, given that Smith will probably play 80 minutes of every game if fit.

ads wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 12:29 pm I wouldnt wish injury on anyone, but it could be good for England to really see what they've got if Farrell can't play. Seems like EJ needs to have his hand forced so he (rather than Smith) isn't relient on Farrell.
Well said :smt038 Wouldnt wish injury on anyone, least of all someone who is clearly a key leader and driver of standards in the squad. Who’s next in the firing line I wonder ? Bit difficult now Vunipolas are out of favour as well.
Says something though when the majority of England fans are not too upset that he’s out

Joe Hayes possibly misses out on a chance to make the England 23 with tomorrow's game called off.
To win is not as important as playing with style!

If you get rid of the Saracens haters, you’re not left with many to be fair.

Be interesting to see what they do about the 12 shirt. Hysterical Healey was bigging up Northmore
