Re: Formerly of this parish
I was always sure he had an identical twin called Dim Barrow and they used to take it in turns to play for us. When he was on form he was powerful and a good all rounder but he didn't half used to give away some properly stupid penalties.LE18 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 4:29 pmHe developed a bit of a bad reputation whilst with us, went to Saints if I remember, but didn't get many starts and I don't think his reputation improved.
Think he left us mid season, went to La Rochelle got sent off in either his first game or one there of. As you say Saints followed which was a disaster and then he went off to work outside of rugby.
Could potentially be a good and cheap punt for Sale.

To win is not as important as playing with style!

Watching Telusa V in tonight's Bristol Vs Stade match, he seems to have lost pace (definitely) and (maybe) some appetite for the game although there was the occasional trademark twinkling run.

Let's not forget the stuff going on in Tonga today may affect his appetite for the game today.
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.
Re: Formerly of this parish
True, I'd rather overlooked that. I guess many of the Tongans ( including our own Saumaki) playing rugby in Europe this weekend may have had their minds on matters more important than rugby.
Re: Formerly of this parish
There was allegedly an altercation leading to Barrow’s departure.
For me he was too good a player to be kept out of the side by some of the players we had at the time.

Personally I never rated Barrow and think he had an attitude problem hence his dust up with Tom Youngs who doesn’t suffer fools.

When you look at the young talent coming through at Scrum Half for England
Quirke
JVP
Mitchell
Randall
You have to think he would struggle to get international honours for England so he may have decided to try for them from Scotland.

Well the "Not - Nots!" London Irish were the ideal club for Ben, born in Stoke on Trent, playing for the Irish, likes Mighty White Scottish baked bread and a Scottish breakfast so qualifies remotely for Scotland, collects model trains and has studied his ancestry on the internet too.
I am pleased for him but delighted we have JVP in our team.
