He went through with it though, and Simmonds has a duty of care. He followed through and drove him down. If he doesn’t get retrospective punishment it’s a joke
Simmonds did not let go of him to cause the drop….Hepburn caused the lift and was the one that relinquished any duty of care….will wait to see if the citing officer has a different view regarding Simmonds.

Hepburn let go of him but Simmonds still drove him down. He can’t get away with that for me,both as bad as each other. Definite reds and hopefully long bans

Tempest coming in for a fair bit of stick for some of the stuff he missed yesterday @ Quins v Exeter. Some clear and obvious foul play at rucks in particular Jonny Gray coming in like a torpedo virtually from the Quins side to take out Marler.

Right in front of Tempest. Completely ignored.

Don’t know how to add the link, but @rugby_ap (A-P Cronje).

Saw that live, it was atrocious.

But.

The TMO has to also take the blame, there is only so much the on-field ref can see.

Hepburn and Sutherland infographics

The most interesting thing for me is, on Sutherland's it states that head contact automatically makes it a mid range offence. (Banner at the bottom of the image)

On Hepburn's head contact is ticked (I'm guessing because Marler's head quite clearly makes contact with the ground) yet his is listed as "low end" not mid range.

To me that seems very inconsistent!
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Not surprised, as I said the citing system is a joke. Laughable at times
