Isn’t Hill a direct replacement for Lood?

Lood and FdK are their marquee players so can't be

Didn’t directly mean from a cap perspective, more positionally. With strong rumours that both those are off at the end of the season, be interested to see how they manoeuvre their marque slot

Lood signed a three year deal in 2019 there's some rumours that he has had an extra year added somewhere along the line though. Possibly as part of the Covid negotiations.

The du Preez twins signed three deals at the same time and are rumoured to be attracting interest from SA.

Akker Van Der Merwe is off and will be replaced internally and Faff is rumoured to be the same. McGinty is off and being replaced by Ford though that will take up a bit more cap. Van Rensburg the powerful centre is rumoured to be out of contract as well though Sale are allegedly after Joseph as his replacement and I doubt that would be any cheaper, possibly more expensive.

Cobus Weise (Jasper's brother) signed at the same time as well so could be out of contract also.

Manu

Hill
Quirke

All not available for about 10 rounds of the year- with the number South Africans leaving finding replacements is going to be hard. As we have seen this year having Ford around every week has been golden and he may well help tie everything together but Sale could become like tigers a few years ago. Great 1st XV on paper but hardly ever available.

I'm personally hoping that Ford's current form gets noticed, and he finds himself back with England next year!
In my defence, I was left unsupervised….

I hope you mean next season, not next year ;) We need him in the first 6 months of next year!

Agustín Creevy, London Irish, could be putting retirement on hold for a final contract in France come the end of the season with Bayonne and Bordeaux apparently showing interest.

Monty Ioane getting offers from abroad.

Depending who we lose would be a good signing.

With or without his briefcase?

Should have been made persona non grata...

He’s always looked impressive when I’ve seen him play! Would be a good pick up for anyone!
