We have a pack that could give a lot of 10's a good ride.
If Ford goes the moment he starts if he does going out of form needs to be the moment we drop him.

For me would go with
1. Joe Simmonds
2. Alex Lozowski
3. Finn Smith
4. Bernard Foley
5. Matt Toomua
Lozowski is my number one, good with the boot, defensively solid and has good game management. Ideal behind our rampaging pack.

Simmonds isn't a goal kicker? His kicking record over the last couple of seasons is phenomenal. He kicked a ridiculous number of consecutive kicks either last season or the one before and has missed 24 out of the best part of 200 in all competitions over the previous two seasons. I'd take 88(ish)% from the tee any day of the week.

True another plus is he could go to 15 when Steward leaves and Lancaster or Burns could play 10.
I like Simmonds because what we want in a 10 on the whole is what he does with Exeter

whenever I see Exeter playing Slade is doing the kicking that's what I base that on he might be at that percentage but how many kicks is he actually taking? I wouldn't know

This for me....
It doesnt matter why he's leaving (if indeed he is) but he will be with us for the rest of the season whether he goes or stays so wouldn't it be better to support him rather than saying such childish things?
What would you rather people say?
Oh yes Ford leave to another premiership team brilliant.
Wonderful.

I don't get this attitude just as much as going harsh on a player.
You don't have to say anything critical of him - its a profession, he can make is own choices so if he has decided to go we move on and either build from within or find a replacement. I also think it strange to be childishly critical of him but then no doubt sing his praises if he wins us the game against Quins or look even sillier if he stays with the club

If he does go, and I hope he doesn't, there are 2 10's I wouldn't want even if available: Farrell and Jackson

That's a good list and you're right about a game manager 👍

Which prop did Lozowski absolutely smash near his own line the once?

Toomua did us over way more than Ford did originally, so no thank you.

How so?
Ford potentially left us twice for premiership clubs
Toomua left because Chieka unexpectedly wanted him for the RWC.

I have more respect for the later generally

My comment merely to highlight that blood is thicker than water. I just know that SB will have a plan and if this has had to come to pass then we will just get on with it!

Well we are clearly on the same wavelength with the top 3 and need for game management. Foley will be 33 by the start of next season, I'm not sure what level he's at playing in Japan. I did rate him when he was still playing internationally. Toomua I don't think would fit a Borthwick team, to be honest I'm not sure he's really suited to NH rugby. Great skill set but I always felt like he was going from one phase to the next backing his individual ability to find something to make a difference. Compare that to Ford who seems to be thinking at least one maybe two phases ahead at all times.
