Toulon seem to be at the wrong end of the table and some beatings, wheels coming off the juggernaut? or is the owner getting bored?
True, they've not been at their best recently and last season they failed to qualify for Champions' Cup rugby and find themselves in the Challenge Cup.
Mourad Boudjellal was owner from 2006-20 and was the force behind the big recruitment drive that saw them win three consecutive European Cups (with Sir Jonny at the helm), but he stepped down and was replaced by Bernard Lemaître who's just recently signed Cheslin Kolbe.
The current head coach is Patrice Collazo who played for Glaws(x2) S Français, Toulouse and Racing and won one cap for France.
More importantly, he was head coach at La Rochelle from 2011/18 when they became a force in the Top14 and then went to Toulon.
I think they'll be there or thereabouts at the end of the season, but they're certainly not the team they used to be.
Lots of firecracker displays from the backs on both sides; masses of running rugby. But reffing, particularly breakdown and tackles around the head, decidedly wobbly.
Clermont kick inside their own half, ball in touch in oppo 22. Toulouse player gathers ball and does a quick throw in. Play on. and no-one says anything.

A cunning stunt!! (I think that's the right way round!)

Whichever way you look at this, either a dangerous late tackle or dangerously tackling a player without the ball, there’s only one decision the referee can make - Red card!! I believe the culprit is up before the beak this week, so we’ll soon know if the punishment fits the crime.
He copped a 24 week ban, reduced to 12 as he expressed remorse(!!!), no previous form, recognition of guilt, etc.
Three months isn't bad, I suppose for such a "tackle", if you can call it that!
Clermont 26 Racing 17
Brive 19 S Français 12 (SF still in last place)
Lyon 15 Bordeaux 20
Montpellier 21 La Rochelle 11 (in 13th place only 1 win in 5 for last season's high flyers)
Perpignan 14 Pau 29
Biarritz 11 Toulouse 17 (Toulouse played 5 won 5 and are 6 points clear at the top)
Castres 27 Toulon 16 (Toulon lose again and find themselves in 11th place)
1 Toulouse played 5/21 points
2 Bordeaux 5/15
3 Brive 5/14 (good to see an unfancied side like Brive in the dizzy heights!)
4 Castres 5/14
5 Pau 5/13
6 Racing 5/12
7 Lyon 5/12
8 Montpellier 5/12
9 Clermont 5/9
10 Perpignan 5/8
