Touted as as possible target for a host of Premiership Clubs including Leicester , highly regarded South African Lock JD Schickerling will be taking a “sabbatical” in Japan with Kobelco Steelers :

Former Wales lock Jake Ball, who left Scarlets at the end of last season to return to Perth to be reunited with his wife and meet his baby son for the first time, has just signed with Japanese club NEC Green Rockets: https://re-how.net/all/1353388/
Apparently he was too expensive for Western Force, who already have some strong Australian locks, including Isack Rodda, Ryan McCauley (currently on loan at Exeter) & former All Black Jeremy Thrush.

The Rugby Paper report that Saracens are opening contract negotiations with Mako Vunipola amid interest from the Top 14 .
Stade Francais,Toulon, Lyon,Racing, and Montpellier are all said to be following developments as the player has indicated in the past that he would not rule out a move to France. However , Mako apparently wants to continue his England career.Making matters more interesting is the fact that that Sarries, for Salary Cap requirements ( when has this bothered them in the past ??) need him to take something of reduction of his rumored £400,000 plus a season .

He shouldn't even be getting picked for England these days, but that's another story.kk20gb30 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 9:26 am The Rugby Paper report that Saracens are opening contract negotiations with Mako Vunipola amid interest from the Top 14 .

Think we would all prefer if he left for France, however not sure that will actually happen.

I thought that one of the Vunipola brothers was outside the cap and part of his marquee wages was essentially to cover the other brother's lower wage?
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Rumoured but never confirmed. That was a few years ago as well. Farrell and Itoje will certainly be their two marquee players for the upcoming season. Their wages will both be stratospheric these days.TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 7:44 pm I thought that one of the Vunipola brothers was outside the cap and part of his marquee wages was essentially to cover the other brother's lower wage?

They've previously said they aren't actually that close and that their wives are in closer contact than they are. I'd find it unusual that one would then pass cash to the other or that after the last salary cap investigation that this would have not been found and dealt with.TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 7:44 pm I thought that one of the Vunipola brothers was outside the cap and part of his marquee wages was essentially to cover the other brother's lower wage?
It might well be that they've not needed massive salaries as the England game bonus bumps up their earnings. Add in Billy's tendency to break his arm a few years ago might have brought his offer down depending on when negotiations took place.
