The top 2 certainly seem to have more money to spend !!!

The "league table" is quite interesting and the club that stands out for me, is Quins. They seemed to have achieved their success without (essentially) a head coach and without splashing the cash. That earns a cheer from me!

You wonder how they juggle some of the huge salaries with the salary cap spread rather more thinly among the rest of the squad?
If the marquee players are outside of the cap it may be possible.

Half a million for Jackson makes you feel sick.....
To win is not as important as playing with style!

Isn't it the case that only one marquee player is allowed now?

Wildly inaccurate especially after the covid situation.

My understanding is that whilst one of the marquee players could be promoted from within your own ranks the other could not have played in the Premiership for anybody in the previous season. We are now reducing to just one marquee player and also cutting the salary cap considerably. It remains to be seen how any team requiring £1.000,000. or more to pay just three non marquee players is going to finance another 35 or 40 out of the remaining £5,000,000. particularly if half a dozen of the top earners are away for internationals and the replacements need to be of a similar standard.
Financial management of the cap will need to be more clever than the game management of the fly-half and possibly more deceptive than a Barry John dummy.

Quite right - perhaps some sort of under the table scheme whereby players get property instead of cash or have image rights valued incorrectly would help.........
or has that been done before
or has that been done before

Those look like pre-COVID numbers for some. Would be very surprised if Ben Youngs is still on £350k.

I guarantee nearly all of those numbers are plucked out of thin air

Sounds like Ben's salary pre contract renewal, he took a pay cut to stay when May opted to not follow suit and go back to Glaws.SthrnTiger wrote: ↑Wed Jul 28, 2021 3:52 pm Those look like pre-COVID numbers for some. Would be very surprised if Ben Youngs is still on £350k.
