Just to say that S B appears to be conjouring up a gruop of players that has good quaity depth. I feel quite comfortable with our squad. In a couple of seasons, with some fine tuning, we could well be right up there again. :smt045

The rumours of another prop and another back row appear to have gone quiet. You’d assume all new signings would be done and in by now given pre-season has started, unless they are still involved elsewhere.

Well the new prop arrived the other week.

Rumours were another backrow who we commonly assumed would be a 6/lock type. Nothing heard yet but it's not an area of massive need. I think the squad is in a decent shape. Would have been nice to see a big lock come in to replace Lavanini but I'm happy to see what Snyman can bring.

Since the Montoya thing got leaked, nowt. The van Staden move was leaked in the SA press though so whilst nothing will come from the club doesn't mean it won't be leaked by another source.

I think we're probably all sorted but never say never.

The rumours weren’t around a loosehead and they were around a signing from the Prem. I don’t think it’s that guy we’ve just signed. I think there’s still more to come.

I said before that because of the salary cap, I’d be surprised if the rumours were true. I think the squad we’ve got is the squad we’re moving forward with.

I don't remember much in the way of prop rumours to be honest and considering we now have 8 props available to us who can all play at senior level I doubt we'll see anymore spend on the department.

LH - Genge, van Wyk, Whitcombe, Richardson

Genge is a regular England international, van Wyk has played regularly in the Prem for Saints, Whitcombe has looked entirely comfortable despite his tender years and Richardson is no rookie and gave Koch a hard time when he played against Sarries last season, Richardson can also cover tighthead in an emergency.

TH - Cole, Heyes, Leatigaga, Hurd

Cole and Heyes have been capped for England and Leatigaga is a Samoan international and general wrecking ball. Hurd looked solid enough when he played and is a work in progress.

I'm not sure where there's a gap there for another addition? If everyone's fit you might see Hurd or Whitcombe play a game or two for Notts before the A League starts just to get them some minutes.

Looking at the squad at the front of this thread (and thanks for this because with all the coming and going it’s very useful) is Olowofela back with us next season or does he stay out in Oz ? Does anyone know or heard?

Borthwick said a while ago that he would announce any new signings when he was ready and since then we have signed the Australian fullback and Socino . I wouldn’t be surprised if there was one more signing to be announced but who knows although with pre-season training having started could it be someone playing out in South Africa ?
