Signings are increasingly becoming an all season affair so it may well be that people may not even be signed up yet

There is a mandatory 5 week break so unless we were clever with some players starting their total break early pre-season will begin on July 17th.

For English players I'd expect any confirmations to come before then.

It seems to be a pretty much league wide thing as I said.
As SK 88 says it could be clubs trying to be sneaky and playing the field last minute, but i'm 90% sure on some signings that just haven't been announced and i'm just struggling to see why they are holding now.
Unless it's some marketing thing and they found out the best time to release signings v getting new season ticket holders for next year.

Are we still thinking this BR is Rhodes or is that just 2+2=5?

Think 2+2=5

At least my reason for thinking it was down to the timing of the announcement prior to the playoff final for Sarries (they delayed their full list till after playoffs) so thought maybe the early announcement was forced because a new club wanted to announce him. So the fact we didn't announce him before the 2nd leg of that final makes me think it was just a few wrong assumptions.
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Like it. Great news and hopefully he grows up and inherits his dad's side step and we see him play at WR.

A nice piece on Sarries offy today about Rhodes. Unless I missed it no mention of what he's going to do now with his career. Seems strange, unless he's tied to another club and they are waiting to announce it 😉

My guess is if Rhodes was coming here why not announce it when we announced Socino

Reading the disciplinary decision for Rhodes it actually says that he is retiring. I would have thought if he had signed for another club he would have had to declare it to the RFU but both Sarries and Rhodes said he intended to retire.

I still think Matera could be an option as the mystery backrow, TRP reported he is looking for a new club post his Crusaders stint a few months back

I also don't think that the guys on the podcast would have reacted the way they did if it was Rhodes. The impression I got was that we'd signed a top notch quality player.
