Think his technique with the shami leather isn't up to scratch.Knightonian wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 7:23 pm Is Ben White injured ?
As I can’t remember the last time he played, otherwise there maybe truth in this

Got to say I'm really wanting a popcorn day soon...
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Would definitely be nice to piece the final bits of the puzzle together for next season.
There can’t be many more new signings coming though I would have thought . . . ?!
Looking forwards to some re-signings too - think these could be more pertinent!
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE VI: The Return of the Burns
I struggle to see where he fits in.
We have the established England scrum half who is probably nearing the end of his international career as first choice.
We have JVP who is an outstanding prospect and already good enough to justify selection as a starter or on the bench rather than a prospect who could just about make the grade to cover injuries.
Richard Wigglesworth - player coach but still able control a game in the premiership.
Ben White is capable but is he going to hang around behind those 3 as injury cover? Even if Wigglesworth moves over further to coaching it still leaves him as 3rd choice with youngsters coming through the ranks. Realistically I would think he will leave and go to somewhere in the premiership where he will get regular game time and develop his career. Ultimately you can only play one scrum half and have one on the bench. It's a key position but not many chances - there are two locks on the field, 3 back rows, three wings/full backs (plus the bench slot) and so on. Like fly half the skill set is very specific unless you are Austin Healey and have the gas to cover wing if you don't get your best position.

Yeah I expect majority to be re-signing, plus a prop and maybe one or two new signings. (Depends a bit how many leave)RunTigerRun wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 5:23 pmWould definitely be nice to piece the final bits of the puzzle together for next season.

Plus nice to know the full list of leavers too so we can see the shape of next season.
I really love how we get the news in blocks, but at times like these where most are probably sorted, we're possibly waiting on one signature to allow all of it to be announced.

I wonder how long it will take Leigh Jones to get settled and begin to influence recruitment of players and coaches. He's only been in post for a couple of weeks, but it seems that he will have an important leadership role, supporting SB.
A full, permanent, coaching team in place for the pre-season would be good..

Looks like we will be getting Van Staden for preseason.
Interesting White offered to release him early, shame he didn't take him up on it but show Marco's character
Got a big match up today v Kolisi @5:15

I’d like them to get in someone called Steve, just so I can shout ‘Steeeeeeeeeeeeve’ like we used to with Steve Mafi.Scott1 wrote: ↑Sat May 15, 2021 11:58 amGreat news!
