Thanks for explanation, but was Farrell off for HIA, he was seen in the stand after a couple of minutes, I thought HIA tests took longer than that, will need to watch next week to see if he is playing.Rob18C wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 9:55 pmInteresting, didn’t know that! You would hope that the England coaches know that so unfortunately would make you think Ford is injured. Thanks for clearing the rules up!TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 9:47 pm
They changed that rule, this is a direct quote from the 2021 law book
TACTICAL REPLACEMENTS JOINING THE MATCH
3.33. Tactically replaced players may return to play only when replacing :
a. An injured front-row player.
b. A player with a blood injury.
c. A player with a head injury.
d. A player who has just been injured as a result of foul play (as verified by the match officials).
e. The nominated player described in Law 3.19 or 3.20.
It is quite clear by point c. since the introduction of HIA's being mandated that you CAN bring a player back on, so either the England coaches didn't know the rules (which IMO is a shocker) OR Ford was injured.

You have 10 minutes to undertake the HIA and see it the player is safe to resume. If you take them off and it's clear they aren't in a fit state to continue they might as well go and sit and watch the match after you've given them whatever medical attention required.LE18 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 10:39 pmThanks for explanation, but was Farrell off for HIA, he was seen in the stand after a couple of minutes, I thought HIA tests took longer than that, will need to watch next week to see if he is playing.Rob18C wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 9:55 pmInteresting, didn’t know that! Ford injured is a blow. Let's hope it's just a dead leg or something.
Re: Tigers vs Falcons - 28th March 2021 at 15:00
Either way, I don't see much reason to play Ford or Youngs - they've played a lot of rugby and a week off for them will be massive.
Genge will almost certainly be cited because the elbow clip is all over social media, and so we shouldn't bank on his return.
Martin will be on a high after getting a run out today, and so if we can I'd start him. Personally I would want him to start taking on the Lavanini 'enforcer' role as Lavanini is off at the end of the season and is a bit of a penalty magnet.
Potential injury to Nephi could be an issue but with Cole returning we can go de bruin/whitcombe on the LH side.

Genge could be in trouble,he was being held so he couldn’t get up but in this day and age you can’t use your elbows on someone’s head to try and get up! Ban incoming if cited

Whitcombe hasn't looked out of place so far, so keep him in the 23 & it would be good to see Martin (a good little cameo yesterday,) in the 2nd row if that's where his future is going to be, he wouldn't get in our first choice back row at the moment.
The 12 shirt is the biggest quandary going forward, Scott looked far better at 13, but isn't going to displace Moroni, do we stick with Kelly, give Porter a couple of games, the fact we haven't tried Taute at 12 is strange.
Potter looked very sharp when he came on so he takes the 14 shirt, the 11 shirt for either Kini or Nemani.
Give Ford & Youngs a week of downtime, probably required mentally as much as physically.

Err, what about how they played against France last weekLE18 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 10:34 pmYes I know that but Youngs and Ford have been with him so long its ingrained into their heads and instinctively it will come out again as soon as they play for us. England disastrous 6N, lost to Scotland, Wales and Ireland! Will our England contingent coming back be any better than the lads who turned out today, will the England poor kicking game, from half backs, creep back into Tigers tactics, who are starting to run the ball again. We could do worse than rest them all.
I don't disagree with probably giving them the week off, but I think that your reasoning is flawed.
Re: Tigers vs Falcons - 28th March 2021 at 15:00
Don’t see much point in Ford/Youngs being on the bench. I think they would either start or be completely rested so I would rest them so they can have one of their mandatory weeks off (not sure exactly what the rules are on this but believe they need a week or so off somewhere)
So would probably go with
De bruin
Youngs
Cole
Martin
Green
Liebenberg
Reffell
Wiese
Wigglesworth
Henry
Potter
Scott
Moroni
Murimurivalu
Steward
Clare
Whitcombe (assume leatigaga is injured)
Heyes
Lavanini
Wells
JVP
McPhilips
Kelly
I expect lavanini will probably start instead of Martin but I would have him on the bench

Given that the England players have been in a bubble for 8+ weeks and haven't seen their family for a while I would give them the week off, although perhaps maybe Martin doesn't need as much rest so maybe on the bench for him?TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 7:27 pmThink the ruling is they have to have time off but the club gets to choose when if that makes sense.

Remember we have the loosehead Daryl Marfo now so if Leatigaga is injured he might be in the match day 23.

If he's not going to be signed long term, I'd rather see us play Whitcombe, if Genge is rested then De Bruin will surely be starting, so it's between Marfo, Whitcombe & Bower. I'd give the bench spot to Whitcombe personally.
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

I think we should play as strong a team as possible to give the returning players a run out before Connacht. Health and fitness permitting if the England boys need a rest then that’s what they should do tho

I note Carreras has been cited for the alleged gouging incident against Wasps winger.
