Could very well be incorrect here but believe I that following the 'group re negotiations' that preceded the Covid inspired 25% wage reduction, Genge only signed on for an additional 12 months which superseded a previously signed longer term deal...

His contract announcement in July, was listed as an extension to the one signed in Jan (Jan was pre pay cut). The Jan one had to cover a minimum of this year, so given this is listed as an extension to it IMO he'll be signed for min next year.

Leatigaga was also announced as an extension, but I don't think he'd previously signed before the pay cuts, so it is possible he may be out of contract, but I think the club will be wanting to keep him.
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

I don't see Genge leaving anytime soon. High price Loosehead away with England.
I also don't see Leatigaga going just yet, but he will be attracting plenty of French interest.
Personally IMO the potentially leavers I could possibly see happening are (Brackets already confirmed off or leaving)
Hookers: N/A (Mamu)
Props: Bower, Marfo, (Gigena, De Bruin)
Locks: N/A (Lavanini, Enever)
Back Row: Coghlan, Lewis, (Taufua)
Scrum Half: N/A
Fly Half: Bonilla
Centres: N/A
Back 3: Aspland-Robinson, Williams,
Development wise I could see: Dimen and Ashworth going.
Which for me I feel we still need
1 Prop
1 Lock
1 Fly Half
1 Back 3

Maybe the idea is to bring F B in to play as and when required, and to eventually have him as a coach. He does know the game inside out.

Could possibly see Kerr leaving too, think he could want to be above 4th choice Hooler somewhere.RagingBull wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 11:05 am I don't see Genge leaving anytime soon. High price Loosehead away with England.

Always saw Kerr as having bags of potential and if he started once more to show/develop it and was given the opportunity to do so I'd be happy to see him remain.I believe much will depend on any decision made by Tom Youngs (and The Club) in terms his own playing future when it comes to player resources at Hooker beyond this season.

Youngs won't be retiring end of this season IMO.
Can see why Burns is wanted tbh.

Tom has definitely got another year after this. No I cant see why we need him, we need fast youngsters.RagingBull wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 3:10 pm Youngs won't be retiring end of this season IMO.

Think Kerr will go if TY re-signs. Wasn’t he capped or in the Scotland squad at one stage? He will want regular rugby

Why do you need a fast youngster at 10?

McPhillips has only just turned 24, is he not a young 10 who’s worth developing? Looks good in the limited gametime he’s had.

"Great defense to stop that" (rolling maul. Er, yes, illegally, and should have been a yellow card, if not penalty try.
Not that it would have made a difference, but would have helped add a little gloss to what has been a resilient performance.

Agree with this.Leicestertinytiger wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 3:58 pm McPhillips has only just turned 24, is he not a young 10 who’s worth developing? Looks good in the limited gametime he’s had.
Actually with Ford, Henry and McPhillips (add either Burns or Bonilla) - we have a decent profile at 10, with some good young academy players at 10 by all accounts. I wouldn''t change too much except for Burns/Bonilla.
Henry and JMcP look to have some good attacking instincts, we know what Burns and Ford can do in attack - Henry in particular has shown signs of improved game management. IMO, fly half isnt as bad as some make it out to be at the club.

First time I've watched McPhillips and thought he might have more future than as a 3rd/4th choice. Much better performance from him and showed an attacking side missing previously. Encore.Leicestertinytiger wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 3:58 pm McPhillips has only just turned 24, is he not a young 10 who’s worth developing? Looks good in the limited gametime he’s had.

Agreed. I don't think we need to bring Burns in tbh, although if Bonilla goes then I may reconsider.RunTigerRun wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 4:33 pmAgree with this.Leicestertinytiger wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 3:58 pm McPhillips has only just turned 24, is he not a young 10 who’s worth developing?
