Perhaps a little lost amongst the the red cards and Covid news, but it has to at least noted somewhere that the great Fly Half Dan Carter has announced his retirement from Rugby :

The front page of the rugby paper has Heinz making the move to Sixways. I've been told by a well connected Glaws supporting friend that Wuss offered him a £350k deal. He feels that is way over the odds for a 34-year-old scrum half.

If that's true Worcester are insane, they'll probably be spending well over half a million on some luxury players in Heinz and Duhan VdMlonglivethecrumbie wrote: ↑Sun Feb 21, 2021 10:19 am The front page of the rugby paper has Heinz making the move to Sixways. That is definitely crazy. Decent scrum half but rate Youngs, Wigglesworth & JVP as better than him and that's just out of our squad.kpj tiger wrote: ↑Sun Feb 21, 2021 10:59 amIf that's true Worcester are insane, they'll probably be spending well over half a million on some luxury players in Heinz and Duhan VdMlonglivethecrumbie wrote: ↑Sun Feb 21, 2021 10:19 am The front page of the rugby paper has Heinz making the move to Sixways. Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

My Glaws friend tells me that their are rumours that Ali Price will move to Glaws as Heinz's replacement.TigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Sun Feb 21, 2021 11:13 amThat is definitely crazy. Worcester have some investment to still spend up to the cap now it's come down to £5m. Duhan will replace Hougaard as one marquee but Heinz would have to fit in the cap.kpj tiger wrote: ↑Sun Feb 21, 2021 10:59 amIf that's true Worcester are insane, they'll probably be spending well over half a million on some luxury players in Heinz and Duhan VdMlonglivethecrumbie wrote: ↑Sun Feb 21, 2021 10:19 am The front page of the rugby paper has Heinz making the move to Sixways. A ridiculous wage for Heinz but with Hougaard and Weir going they'll just be desperate for some leadership at half-back. Sometimes less attractive clubs need to pay over the odds to turn things around. Bristol signed Madigan on an absurd wage but he played his part in them staying in the Premiership to keep improving.

Worcester are panic-buying in my opinion, van der Merwe should have decided to stay in Edinburgh or at least go to France, he’s going to be wasted at the Warriors.

If Worcester are pinning their hopes in Billy Searle then it makes sense to pair him with an experienced campaigner who can manage a game. Heinz is very good at that even if the proposed salary is ludicrous if true. A backline with Lawrence and DvdM could be very powerful and pretty destructive if given the right platform. Wuss have some options for the other wing and the ever reliable Pennel at 15. That's not bad. Losing Hougaard and Weir is a big blow though.
Not sure their pack is good enough but I suppose that's a different story.

'The Rugby Paper' (Fissler , 20/2/21) speculates that the Harlequin's DoR position is now a two horse race.Whilst one name still appears shrouded in mystery the second 'runner' is Scott Robertson (Crusaders) who is out of contract come end of the season.
Very highly rated coach, would be an interesting appointment.

This shortlist of coaches are ones that they want, not coaches that have expressed interest.
Rassie is meant to also be on that list.

As far as I know yes, hence the deal with Marchant last year to go to the Blues.

Re: Heinz at Worcester.
34yo isn't that old for a scrum half these days is it...
Arguably he's at his peak...
