The Rugby Paper (14 Feb ; Fissler) speculates that should Bath decide to dispense with the services of Stuart Hooper from his DoR role the first man tohey would turn to would be Dean Richards.

Northampton Saints have signed tight-head prop Oisín Heffernan from Championship side Nottingham Rugby.

Heffernan, 25, came through the youth ranks at Leinster and also spent time in Australia playing in Queensland's Premier Rugby competition before signing for Nottingham in 2018.

He also won 20 caps at Under-20 level for Ireland.

Always seemed likely a Prem team would pick him up. Can't have been difficult to offer him more money than what he was on at Notts. Does mean Dimen should get more game time.

I wonder if this is an indication that one of the Saints tightheads is off at the end of the season? Franks is injured but by the start of next season four tighthead props might be a bit overkill with the reduced salary cap. Franks will be pricey, Hill is an international but not close to selection so you'd assume letting one of those go would be preferable.

Some were touting him as a Tigers target. He made the Championship dream team last season, and as reported on the BBC, apparently, he showed up well during practice scrummaging sessions that Saints have had with Notts. So sounds like a decent acquisition.

Teddy Thomas to Toulouse is more or less done, from what I gather. He's replacing Yoann Huget who's retiring at the end of this season.

Bryce Heem has left Toulon for "family reasons" and has signed for the (Auckland) Blues for the 2021 SR Aotearoa season.
