Absolutely spot on. There are so many posts focusing on individuals, and reasons why or why not those individuals are selected, when the reality of this weekend is, we're entering a test, if you can call it a test, with a team where, those that under performed, are rewarded by seemingly automatic selection. Is it to restore confidence? If it is, it's misplaced. A lot on this team sheet were at the last World Cup, so confidence shouldn't be an issue. Are they going to be at the next one? Where's the competition for the shirt. Now is not a time for staleness, and I hope that's not something lying in wait.BFG wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 9:29 am I'm not surprised by the England selection against Italy.
Disappointed but not surprised.
Every poor performance or bad result throws up certain English fall guys and a certain few will always survive, they have to for continuities sake otherwise they'll be disorganised to the point where nothing else matters.
It's always the same few that survive with England.
They are starting to become something of an embarrassment.
I've heard it said that Eddie is slowly proving to be an underdog coach, not sure about this, but perhaps instead he might just be past it for the scale of the job in hand.
I think that longer term and the staleness of Eddie's reign will require a younger coach with the strength and the energy to handle the job who isn't reliant on certain players running the camp for him.

Elliott Daly yet again proving he’s not a full back. Looks like he’ll have to wash Eddie’s car twice next week
