Taute should be tried at 12 imo but he’s definitely improved this season

Re: Tigers vs Worcester - Sat 06 Feb 1500
Agree completely, the big problem with Moroni is that we don't put the ball into his hands enough. If we go wide it tends to go behind his back to Steward to link with the winger. We don't really run with moves the centres much anymore. I'd like to see us do a bit more to mix it up. We showed at the end of the Chiefs game the centres combining could be very effective.RagingBull wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 11:57 am Moroni just not getting much ball.
What I feel he does do well for us currently is he’s a lot better at closing the gap between 13 and wing than our previous 13’s, creating less 2 on 1’s for their wingers.

Re: Tigers vs Worcester - Sat 06 Feb 1500
i was massively happy with the performance yesterday, however i did notice that one of the reasons that we conceded tries in the second half was from putting pressure on ourselves from not securing the ball from the kickoff. it’s not just the wuss match either, has anyone else notice this or have any reason as to why this may be?
Re: Tigers vs Worcester - Sat 06 Feb 1500
I was quite happy with a win and a few tries.
Not much point in being overly picky towards a team in transition.
On the subject of subs early in the second half, this used to happen so players could hear the half time chats and then have some form of a warm up even if a brief one, otherwise they'd be needing some form of warm up whilst the chat was happening and it's difficult to be in two places at once.

I didn't see the match was it good? we did seem to ship a lot of points and I heard we had a couple of yellows, was discipline a problem?OakhamTiger32 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 8:21 am Usually I wouldn't start thinking about next weekends fixture until the dust had settled from this one and would wait until I'm sat, trying to work from home on a Monday morning but failing miserably and instead finding myself trawling through the various Tigers forum posts!
That being said I can't think about last night's match anymore so instead want to focus on something else, so please humor me!
The Worcester game is very winnable, we've said that before but I really am expecting a reaction. From the players and SB. I expect to see a few names coming back in like Porter, Potter maybe Bonilla and hope that we can turn things around in training this week. We seemed to get on better off the back of very little training.. given 2 weeks of training we resort to death by badly executed box kicks! Team wise, personally I would go for:
1. De Bruin
2. Montoya
3. Cole
4. Wells
5. Green
6. Liebenberg
7. Wallace
8. Wiese
9. JvP
10. Bonilla
11. Nadolo
12. Porter
13. Moroni
14. Potter or Murimurivalu
15. Steward
16. Youngs
17. Leatigaga
18. Heyes
19. Martin
20. Brink
21. White
22. Henry
23. Taute
Personally I would like to see Montoya starting so I’ve changed it to reflect that. Take the game to Worcester and come out of the blocks flying. I can't see it and am sure Youngs will get the nod to start but I think it could be a smart move. That said, Montoya is great impact off the bench.
I would like to see Luke Wallace come in for Reffell for this next one. Reffell is a huge talent and a great prospect but he was largely a spectator for the 45 minutes he played and was at fault for a daft penalty. Wallace has been really solid for us and gives us an extra true 7 option.
In the backs I would completely switch up the half backs. Neither performed well at all and arguably cost us the game last night. JvP is a great player to bring on after 60 minutes with the opposition tiring but I would give the young lad a start - he certainly deserves it. Bonilla - well I guess it comes down to the reason behind why he didn't feature last night and whether he is available. If it's down to the number of overseas players I would start him and Moroni and leave Lavanini out for this one.
I would like to see Potter or Murimurivalu come in and Porter alongside Moroni. Scott has been ok, nothing special so I'd like to see how Porter and Moroni get on together as I think they could be a good centre partnership option.
Ok, will leave it at that for now, still early days but I just can't think about last night's game anymore and would sooner focus on next week.. stay positive and you never know, if results go our way this weekend we may finish round 7 in 7th place.. a significant improvement on the last few years!

Re: Tigers vs Worcester - Sat 06 Feb 1500
1 - It was good, we destroyed them up front, we did one or two neat backs moves, best of which would have been our best try of the season just for a forward pass from Scott at the end.
2 - We did ship points, but mostly after the game was beyond Worcester. One of their tries for example was an intercept try after we had started to open up and run from a bit deeper.
3 - Only yellow I recall was for the opposition (though was an ex Tiger in Kitchener)
4 - Discipline wasn't too bad at all, in fact I think for their first try the opposition had an advantage in the red zone I was worried this was exactly where we could have given another penalty or two trying to stop a try and a yellow or two for us was the opposition's only route back in, instead we held our discipline, ok we gave away the try but that wasn't going to cost us as much ass a yellow could have.
Montoya was an absolute beast, as was the pack as a whole
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.
Re: Tigers vs Worcester - Sat 06 Feb 1500
Totally agree about Montoya - is a must-be 1st choice for me, well backed up by Tom for this and next season which I hope will be his benefit year. As for the rest of the game - line out = very good, Maul = superb, scrum = ok (didn't lose any but no real domination either) - Halfbacks = much better, defence = good but wish we would not give away so many interception tries (3 in the last 2 games), Rucks = ok but not enough turnovers cos no Reffell or Wallace, 3/4's = improving but still some way to go. Next week will be a real test as Quins are going well.
Hehehehehehehehe
Re: Tigers vs Worcester - Sat 06 Feb 1500
I doubt Nadolo will be fit.
The way he was holding his hamstring suggested that it wasn't just a tweek - more of an existing injury that had let go.

In fairness one of those intercept tries was a lavish long pass thrown by Nefi.....

Highlights are available on the Leicester Tigers website and also on BT Sport if you are interested Chobbsy. No yellow cards for us just one for them. The match was a good one imho. Lots of domination by the pack and the rolling maul was a real weapon once again. Lineout and scrum pretty solid and a few nice moves from the backs (although literally only a few) one of which was so close to being an incredible try were it not for a slightly forward last pass. Steward, Wiese and Liebenberg put in their usual extremely high level performance and Montoya was excellent and Henry was outstanding kicking both from the tee and out of hand. We certainly still have work to do and were far from perfect but a great result and some steps forward. Enjoy the highlights and here's hoping we can keep on building..Chobbsy wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 9:23 amI didn't see the match was it good? we did seem to ship a lot of points and I heard we had a couple of yellows, was discipline a problem?OakhamTiger32 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 8:21 am Usually I wouldn't start thinking about next weekends fixture until the dust had settled from this one and would wait until I'm sat, trying to work from home on a Monday morning but failing miserably and instead finding myself trawling through the various Tigers forum posts!
