Also means that George Martin is the only 2nd row cover in the Shadow squad, so he'll be into the squad with one more injury.JP14 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 1:47 pm https://www.englandrugby.com/news/artic ... ions-squad
"Joe Launchbury and Joe Marler have withdrawn from England's Guinness Six Nations squad. Launchbury is out through injury, with a fibia stress fracture, and Marler has withdrawn for personal reasons. Charlie Ewels and Tom West will join the tournament squad, marking West’s first England senior call-up.
Eddie Jones’ squad will meet at St. George’s Park on Wednesday 27 January where they will begin preparations for the Guinness Six Nations."
Possibly means that Obano will get his first test cap against Scotland, Tom West has played well for Wasps of late and merits this call up in my opinion.

Sadly, Racing centre, Virimi Vakatawa, will play no part in the 6N due to a knee injury sustained in last weekend's defeat to Union Bordeaux Bègles. No replacement has been announced yet.

Not sure who exactly is aware of this and apologies if it is common knowledge , but Joe Marler took to Social Media to explain his 'personal reasons' for withdrawal from the England squad. In the current climate it is very difficult to argue with his reasoning....

Re: 6 NATIONS 2021
No surprise there given Marler's previous retirement from England.
No complaints from me about anyone who chooses not to join their international team for the 6N, everyone has to do what's right for themselves and their families.

Isn't Alldritt injured as well? Be interesting to see how France do without three pivotal players for an entire tournament.Robespierre wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 8:12 am Sadly, Racing centre, Virimi Vakatawa, will play no part in the 6N due to a knee injury sustained in last weekend's defeat to Union Bordeaux Bègles. Lyon centre Pierre-Louis Barassi (2 caps) has been summoned to replace Vakatawa.JP14 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 10:00 amIsn't Alldritt injured as well? Alldritt is apparently injured, but played at the weekend, and is replaced by Cameron Woki, who isn't an 8.

Re: 6 NATIONS 2021
Few better in World Rugby at stealing the ball at the lineout than Woki, but you're right he will be played at 6 most likely. Probably going to be between Jelonch and Tolofua for the No.8 spot?Robespierre wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 10:15 amLyon centre Pierre-Louis Barassi (2 caps) has been summoned to replace Vakatawa.JP14 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 10:00 amIsn't Alldritt injured as well? My money would be on Tolofua.JP14 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 11:27 amFew better in World Rugby at stealing the ball at the lineout than Woki, but you're right he will be played at 6 most likely. They did pretty well in the Autumn's Nations Cup finalJP14 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 10:00 amIsn't Alldritt injured as well? Re: 6 NATIONS 2021
They did! But their performance was very overplayed. On rewatching iirc they got into Englands 22 once in the whole of the second half and ET. No disrespect but it was more England being poor and thinking they just had to turn up more than anything. Ford doesn't cut back in and Farrell kicks his points and its not even close really.Chobbsy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 1:21 pmThey did pretty well in the Autumn's Nations Cup finalJP14 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 10:00 amIsn't Alldritt injured as well? I was there on the day and what France did was get under England's skin and really rattled them into making mistakes and could have easily have won the gameScott1 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 1:44 pmThey did! Re: 6 NATIONS 2021
So could England if OF have passed the tee to Ford. In that i mean won the game comfortably, great drama though!Chobbsy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 2:52 pmI was there on the day and what France did was get under England's skin and really rattled them into making mistakes and could have easily have won the gameScott1 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 1:44 pmThey did! Good point, Chobbsy! Ok, the second choice French team made a lot of mistakes but their commitment was out of the top drawer and I was disappointed they didn't win.Chobbsy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 2:52 pmI was there on the day and what France did was get under England's skin and really rattled them into making mistakes and could have easily have won the gameScott1 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 1:44 pmThey did!
