Tian Schoeman isn't a bad player but when there have been rumours about Pollard, Smith, Cruden etc in recent seasons I'd be a bit underwhelmed if I were a Bath fan

Sam Johnson re-signs with Glasgow , whilst there is a little more speculation regarding Huw Jones :

Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....

Gustard leaves Quins with immediate effect...
Happy days clearing straw from the pitch before the Baa-Baas games! KBO

Rumoured to be joining Wales as Defence coach isn't he?

Where have you seen this, not on Quins twitter feed?

It’s funny how 3 coaches that a lot of people (including me) was saying would be better than Murphy
Gustard - left quins mid contract
Ackerman - left Gloucester mid contract
Boyd - Currently below us
Hopefully a case of stumbling to the right person.

Seems a bit of a step backwards...
To win is not as important as playing with style!

I think it also highlights how much of a risk the SB appointment is as well, having never been a head coach before. Let's hope he does well!RagingBull wrote: ↑Wed Jan 20, 2021 2:37 pm It’s funny how 3 coaches that a lot of people (including me) was saying would be better than Murphy

Pretty surprised with how its worked out for Gustard. Was originally gutted that we'd missed out on him (pre-SB announcement)
Easter?
Lancaster?
Diamond?
To be honest, refreshing to read an article where we are not the centre of the 'premiership rugby sh*tshow'

I think Gustard has done well at Quins, finishing 5th and 6th - that's a lot better than GM managed at Tigers. That's as good as you would expect them to place with their current squad. Not exactly packed full of top quality players.
My guess it that his departure is more about frustration at not being able to sign good enough players than it is about him failing.

I know a Quins STH that very much as his ear to the ground. Tells me it was a bolt of the blue and didn't see it coming.
Post event rumours that there is a lot of player unrest with many considering leaving at the end of the season but it seems to me that is just taking a punt on the reasons.
I guess you just never know what is going on behind the scenes.

There have been rumours that Marler was unhappy with tactics and where Marler is Care usually isn't far behind.ourla wrote: ↑Wed Jan 20, 2021 3:14 pm I know a Quins STH that very much as his ear to the ground. Tells me it was a bolt of the blue and didn't see it coming.

Senior players influencing back room decisions isn't always a good thing though. Tigers are a case study in that over recent years.

Senior players will always be influential. You want them to be influential.ABClub wrote: ↑Wed Jan 20, 2021 3:16 pmThere have been rumours that Marler was unhappy with tactics and where Marler is Care usually isn't far behind.ourla wrote: ↑Wed Jan 20, 2021 3:14 pm I know a Quins STH that very much as his ear to the ground. He's been there two and half years, that's enough time to gauge if things are going in the right direction or not.
