Deano- Top Man
During the first Lockdown Deano continued to work for Newcastle declining to take any salary then offered to work for the police, again, with no pay. Brilliant.
Yesterday Deano was one of the first to arrive at the ground to help shovel snow off the pitch. Well done Deano and I hope Newcastle continue to win many more games.

Re: Deano- Top Man
A proper leader. You can see Deano in the attitude and determination of the Newcastle team every week.

Fond memories of the man both on and off the field - as a player and coach.
A degree of reconciliation with The Club would be nice and there is always hope at least.Still a legend and hero to many in these parts.

Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....

Re: Deano- Top Man
The number of people my age around Leicestershire who played rugby with their socks rolled down & shirt hanging out was huge, there were 2 Leicester Tigers when I started watching one with Deano & one without, very different teams.
To win is not as important as playing with style!

I worked and trained with Deano.
Fair, straight and hard as nails. Top bloke. Could do with losing a pound or two - but who's goin' to tell him.

You could say the same about England.Wayne Richardson Fan Club wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 9:55 am The number of people my age around Leicestershire who played rugby with their socks rolled down & shirt hanging out was huge, there were 2 Leicester Tigers when I started watching one with Deano & one without, very different teams.
When he arrived at the back of a ruck it moved!
Re: Deano- Top Man
Is it true that Deano sorted out the hardest player in Wales Phil Pugh?

Re: Deano- Top Man
I played with my socks down, but that was more to do with the quality of the socks than continuing a great tradition by Deano.
No doubt a top bloke though.

Those were the days. Following Tigers around the country, and always the chant of "Deano, Deano, Deano" every time he played. The pubs were a great place to be, and the roar within them. Fantastic atmosphere.
A true legend and a great guy. Shame he left.
