This evening there’s the rearranged Top 14 round 4 lower end of the table match Castres (12th) v Brive (13th) so you’d think both teams will be going hammer and tongs for vital points. Elsewhere, there was a big ProD2 match earlier between joint leaders Perpignan and 5th place Colomiers(a suburb of Toulouse). Colomiers won 23-18 and move up to 4th but Perpignan had an lbp that moves them one point clear at the top.

The match Toulouse v Bordeaux is a cracker! Currently 26-23 to Toulouse at two tries apiece but Bordeaux are gaining the upper hand - until Dupont scores a fabulous individual try! Woki is having a fine game and is enhancing his reputation. 33-23 now.

Jalibert is having a very good game. Ntamack is Toulouse’s 10 tonight so France’s two best fly halves are on the pitch. Good stuff !

Given the outrageous talent of the two of them could we see Ntamack go to 12 like he did for Tolouse a couple of years back? France have envious depth in the back three and two playmakers could bring them into the game a lot more. Vakatawa at 13 would be a good foil for the dual playmakers as well.

Fair point, Sam! It’s certainly a valid option for Galthié come the 6N.

I don't think there's a better scrum half in the NH at the minute. Don't think there's many if any better in the SH either.

. Raphaël Ibañez and Fabien Galthié are building a squad that will without doubt be among the favourites for France 2023. The tournament could open with France v NZ, which would be a great way to start!

Goodey thought the French wouldn’t open with Les Bleus vs the All Blacks and have it as the last game, I disagree I don’t think they will do this.

It only seems 5 minutes ago that Wayne Barnes became the most hated man in New Zealand because of the try that knocked the All Blacks out back in ‘07.
