you would imagine he knows it but its making that adjustment that can be the challengeWayne Richardson Fan Club wrote: ↑Sat Nov 21, 2020 2:51 pmThat is true, but does our HC know that? Re: Borthwick
You have to say Borthwick has done well too captain every team he has played for, since he has no charisma.

He is the messia!
No, not that one!
Remember, whatever you do to the smallest of the backs you do to his prop, and you can't avoid the rucks and mauls forever...
I know you don't like it when I boo him but how else will he know he's wrong?

Fully understand the sentiment and maybe it's clutching at straws but if we were going to have one of those it would have been in restart rugby?

Here's hoping! They certainly were a team transformed today. New players coming in and fitting straight in, can hardly believe it!

I will live the next 6 hours at least in fear of the alarm clock going off!

Re: Borthwick
Shame Murphy had to depart before we had the pleasure of seeing a performance of that magnitude
Without hope we are nothing, keep the faith, a Tiger for eternity
Re: Borthwick
I thick that had Murphy not departed, we would wait an awful lot longer.
Re: Borthwick
Not bad for a robot, eh, Austin?
Re: Borthwick
There are many different kinds of exceptional leader, and not all of them have charisma.
Re: Borthwick
Borthwick has every reason to be happy tonight.
Freed from his shackles, he proved 23 gutsy nutcases could cause an upset. The best overall Tigers performance for a very long time, the intensity was incredible.
Makes selection when the Internationals come back a rather tricky case..

I don’t care if people perceive Borthwick to have charisma or not, he certainly seems to have the respect of his players and is excellent at communicating his ideas. He is a leader and is willing to try new things - one simple example is his trademark use of a step ladder to evaluate lineout throws.
Healey’s comments weren’t really worthy of an article, he simply stated what many would recognise as a fact - that domestic and test rugby are two different beasts and preparation must therefore be tailored to each accordingly.
This team are in exceptionally good hands with regards to their conditioning with Aled Walters, so something has to go pretty wrong for the squad to get burnt out physically by training. Those who get burnt out mentally will probably move on and the ones that thrive under SB’s regime will likely contribute to Tigers’ resurgence.
I saw a ramp up in intensity today against Gloucester and really enjoyed seeing the players celebrating turnovers and dominant collisions - I haven’t seen that sort of aggression permeate through the whole team for several years.
I tried to watch the England game at the same time on a different screen but alas I was transfixed by events at Welford Road and bar Johnny May’s magnificence I have no idea of what happened at HQ.
I can’t wait for things to continue to develop under SB, I was excited when I heard of his appointment and I am still as excited now.

Healey is a clown.
The idea that Borthwick (like him) might not know how a pro club side should operate having spent years at Bath and Saracens is just ridiculous.
