Really interesting we have lost / changed 2 coaches forwards and attack in the last week.
Hope Borthwick can get in the people he needs to achieve the vision he wants
Wishing all the best for Taylor and his family

Real shame, but I guess posters like Mol2 are satisfied in that they got what they wanted... Wish him all the best.

Re: Rob Taylor leaves on compassionate grounds
Smith to the rescue this shall be music to a lot of folks ears. Just hope we can appoint a permanent attack coach with proven success and experience so we can actually have a semblance of an attack.
Without hope we are nothing, keep the faith, a Tiger for eternity

All the best to Rob and family, hope whatever the issue isn't too bad.
Unfortunately this may leave our attack undercooked for the season which (to a lot of users chagrin) will likely mean it's more likely our season will start with more kicking than we may have had otherwise...

Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Not great news...a real shame was looking forward to seeing how we developed from some little green shoots.
Let's hope the Defensive coach sticks to his area of responsibility.
At this rate Bondi will be coaching soon...
We have some experienced backs they will need to step up as well.
If we continue with the kick first policy Nemani may as well be released.

Shame we haven't really seen what he can do yet and now he's off back home. Hopefully him and his family are all ok. It'll certainly be a lot less stressful being in NZ at the minute. His recruitment advice has certainly helped with some good acquisitions in Potter and Porter.
Yeah because why would we want a giant on the wing for the crossfield kick?Wayne Richardson Fan Club wrote: ↑Tue Nov 03, 2020 5:24 pm If we continue with the kick first policy Nemani may as well be released.

That bit is ok, if not overused, but the lumping it down the pitch makes the dross Meyer had us playing look like Carwyn James stuff.
Give Nemani the ball in hand, save his energy for that.

When Nemani joined - encouraged by Tuilagi and Veainu - it was to play 'running rugby'. He will not be enamoured by 'kick and chase'.
Happy days clearing straw from the pitch before the Baa-Baas games! KBO

Re: Rob Taylor leaves on compassionate grounds
Does "compassionate grounds" mean he didn't want to be here any more, or we didn't want him here?
Seems like the carousel of Tigers players and coaches is not slowing down any time soon. An experienced attack coach with longevity is what we need, but are there any available and do we have the money?

Neither usually.Tiglon wrote: ↑Tue Nov 03, 2020 5:58 pm Does "compassionate grounds" mean he didn't want to be here any more, or we didn't want him here?

Compassionate grounds usually means that something has happened to someone's personal life and they want to move to be closer to people they know.
For example
The last coach to leave on compassionate grounds was Heyneke Meyer after 26 weeks due to his in laws becoming very ill so he wanted to leave so his family could be closer to them.

Completely agree, mutual consent can be used with the caveat that his family wishes to go home. I think for compassionate grounds to be used it suggests a family member is unfortunately not in the best health.RagingBull wrote: ↑Tue Nov 03, 2020 6:16 pmNeither usually.Tiglon wrote: ↑Tue Nov 03, 2020 5:58 pm Does "compassionate grounds" mean he didn't want to be here any more, or we didn't want him here?

Re: Rob Taylor leaves on compassionate grounds
Likewise I hope all is well and wish him the best.
The frustrations at coaching level persist.I was really looking to seeing an attack in place and seeing what we could do.
Matt will be ideal as an interim, hope its not another season long appointment.
We seem to be one step forwards and two back
Testing times admitted
Please lets not have a kick fest as the England game proved to be. It was soooooo boring. That is one generic that will loose me.
If I want to see a game of kick ball I'll go to my local football club and watch them tackle each other in the pen box.Equal amounts of contact as rugby.

Obviously wish Rob Taylor all the best.
Have to say however that this is the last thing The Club need when searching for direction , stability and clarity of thought and doctrine.
Really do hope it is going to be a case of 'all's well that ends well...'
