Bye Bye Boris
Just seen Boris Stankovich is leaving his role.
Great servant many thanks for the memories!

Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.
Stanko!
Just got a ping on my twitter feed. Stanko leaving? What is this madness? I nearly choked on my afternoon pint.

Re: Bye Bye Boris
I think this will be a BIG loss tbh.
Fingers crossed a decent replacement can be found ahead of next season. I don't particularly want SB to be dedicating too much of his time to the scrum.

Surprise announcement, perhaps he's going home to a sane country. I really thought he'd go when MOC returned but no.
Thanks for some wonderful memories and great work as coach.

Re: Bye Bye Boris
Not really a surprise at 40 he will be looking to move up now.
Suspect he will get a job as a forwards coach somewhere or working with a International team.
Wish it would be at Tigers but with Borthwick we prob can't justify it.
I feel the writing was on the wall when he went with Canada to the Rugby World cup.
He's too good of a coach to just be limited to Scrum.
Who knows though maybe down the line if he can showcase his coaching pedigree he may come back at a higher level.
Thought at first it might be a money thing but judging by

It may still be a money thing, like you say he's at a point where he's probably pushing to be a full forwards coach, that means he's got to be on a fair whack compared to most scrum coaches. If the replacement is less experienced then money may well be a big contribution

Very sad to see him go, but we have been lucky to have him.
Wish him luck in his new (hopefully elevated) role.

Re: Bye Bye Boris
If he does then it'll be in a higher position.
From the tone of the article it sounds like his family are moving away which might suggest either international position or back to NZ. I suspect we'll find out soon enough and I'm sure he'll be a success in his new role.
Re: Bye Bye Boris
Shame for Tigers, but I hope he's going onto something new and exciting. I reckon he could be a good Head Coach one day if he fancies it.
Good luck to him whatever he does next. Hopefully we can find someone strong to replace him!

Re: Bye Bye Boris
A huge loss, he was the one shining light amongst the coaches during the last few disappointing seasons. While other aspects of our game have suffered, the scrum has been the only thing that still functions at the level it's always done.
Thanks for everything Boris, and good luck in your next venture, you'll be a huge loss.

Re: Bye Bye Boris
Wish him all the best, either being a scrum coach at international level or moving up to forwards coach elsewhere. Undoubtedly a great servant to the club as both player and coach, will be sorely missed.

Re: Bye Bye Boris
Good luck Boris. Did wonders over the past 3 years when all other coaches had no impact.
What’s Ayerza doing? Farming or fancy a coaching job!
If not, Perry Freshwater!
Ex Tigers but both had the potential to be great coaches.
All the best Boris and your family.
