The Mail article really revealed very little that was not already in the public domain.Being honest seemed more like a space filler than newsworthy copy,
Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....

"Ledesma was among a new group of confirmed cases which includes Pumas regulars Tomas Cubelli, new Leicester signing Matias Moroni, recent Newcastle Falcons' centre Matias Orlando and Felipe Ezcurra."

Looks like Moroni won't be available for a while. Hopefully he recovers quickly from Covid.

Looks like Kobus van Wyk and his family are on their way over from NZ according to his Instagram.
Unlikely to feature this season but gives a good chance to settle and get into the team for 2020/2021 season. Looking forwards to seeing what he can bring to the team!

That's good news. I'm not worried about him playing this season, but it will be a huge plus if at least most of our players can get to know each other in training before the new season and hit the ground running.

Anyone else wonder with Brink and Wiese still to join the squad we might see Liebenberg play lock for Tigers at some point. He played 5 for Stade Francais, kind of how Sale use JL Du Preez.

Quite possibly but we might just see more rotation in the back row rather than asking our front line players to play every game they are fit for. More competition for places isn't a bad thing either.

Hanro gives you options to go 2 backrows on the bench with him covering lock either front starting or mid game, he would be a good 19 shirt wearer, at present that's personally how I think we should use Harry Wells.
Can see Brink & Taufua alternating start & bench, but everyone needs to be fit...has Wiese played lock do we know, he is big enough.

We have seen that the best balanced backrow was Hanro, Taufua & Reffell, that type of combo/balance is what we should aim for.
To win is not as important as playing with style!

Does anyone one know how long Taufua has signed for because I suspect that he will go off at the end of the 20-21 season due to 25% pay cut :smt022

If he goes he goes.
I'm not going to be that upset considering he was already leaving if this beziers owner deal didn't fail.

Should this "New Baby Rhino!" be considered a future signing for Tigers?

It's interesting looking at the squad now and before.

Rugby paper a couple weeks ago suggesting
Project LH and TH
Fly Half
Outside Centre
Left Wing

Which IMO is areas that do need strengthening watching this period.
Hopefully Montoya is over the line as a signing also.

Agree with outside centre and wing. Not sure we need any more props or a fly half.

Montoya is already confirmed for 2021/22 is he not? Are you dubious of that contract in the circumstances or hopeful he might join earlier given the circumstances RB?

Props depend on what the coaches feel Whitcombe and Dimen are ready for at senior level. If they can take PRC minutes and start for the A-team then Leatigaga being able to play both sides gives reasonable depth with 7 senior props. Rowntree is in the Dev squad too and Tim Hoyt will likely join him next season after leaving school. Plenty of props in the production line basically!

On the left wing I hope we re-sign David Williams on a permanent contract shorter term and hopefully Joe Browning can step up longer term as he develops physically for senior rugby.

Fly-half and outside centre could do with better depth though looking at this period.

I always ere on the side of a smaller squad and using the development guys to fill out depth in these discussion though I admit. Many seasons in a row of watching Tigers set-ups with a large squad containing many underperforming players has given me an obsessive predisposition with not wanting the squad to carry players in their late twenties who add little.

Speaking of Wiese, I assume he signed for next season, but does anyone have any updates on when he is due to arrive?
I didn't see him mentioned in the recent Leics Merc report on new signings.
His brother, Cobus, is already at Sale and was in their matchday squad last weekend.
