No fun at all to watch this, was hoping for much better.

Third disallowed try. Another day another TMO. Scrappy but a win.Dr H Flashman MBE wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 7:34 pm It’s quite scrappy. We seem to be playing within ourselves and I don’t mean this at disrespectfully to Irish, but giving them too much respect.

Yep. Watching basically our first XV at the moment against a rotated LI running down the clock for a narrow win. Still a win but not great.CitizenSmiff wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 7:52 pm No fun at all to watch this, was hoping for much better.
It felt like watching a game between the two worst sides in the Prem to be honest.
Positives though in Steward, Reffell and Nadolo. I think that starting back row are a really balanced unit. Wallace has been impressive in his three appearances as well. Williams was also solid in places, potential to be a good squad player.

A win's a win. A Remy is a Remy.
Young lad at 15 did well.
Both our front rows did well.
Line out worked.
Offside line reffing by Pearce abysmal. Its not "Go back. Go back." It's "Penalty, Offside."

Re: London Irish
At least we winned, wonned? Forget what the word is.
Anyway, the boys dug in and showed the fight that has been missing for a long time even if the game itself was an absolute minger.
Why the RFU thought it was a good idea to make JP Doyle redundant when the likes of Pearce are regularly ruining games, I'll never know. LP's performance was dreadful tonight.

Yep.. feeling pretty deflated, feels like we lost.. can’t really remember the last time we won so thought it might feel a bit better than this! Ahh well, take the win and hope we keep improving..CitizenSmiff wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 7:52 pm No fun at all to watch this, was hoping for much better.

Re: London Irish
Is there a statto out there who knows which prem team has had the most tries disallowed in a season?
Asking for a friend.

Re: London Irish
Agreed. Give Murimurivalu the chance to go looking for work. Steward looked rock solid at 15, bar one dipping pass to Williams didn't put a foot wrong. If you didn't know anything about him and were watching him for the first time you'd assume he was the first choice fullback. Very impressed by him and by Nadolo who looks like he'll be a nightmare for opposition defences.RagingBull wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 7:51 pm 11. Murimurivalu

Our kicking game was to loose and we made too many handling errors in their 22. Got to tighten and up and be more clinical. We had enough chances to get a TBP quite comfortably but we're our own worst enemies. A little of that was players clearly not on the same wavelength but we can't excuse that for long.
Defence looked good, we forced a lot of turnovers. I liked how hard we contested everything. It's still a work in progress but it does look a lot better than what we saw pre Covid.

Re: London Irish
still have Murimurivalu, Moroni, Van Wyk, Wiese, Mamu, Brink yet to arrive/feature and I’d expect Potter and Porter to be in the mix. Plus we were a lock down after 20 min so tough to adjust after thatABClub wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 7:56 pmYep. It's a win, but no more.
Re: London Irish
Not sure what people were expecting. Compared where Tigers were at the start of the year I saw real signs of improvement.
Fitness was better, defence was better, commitment was better. Tigers lost two second rows leaving the scrum vulnerable but dug in a got the win.
Lots still to improve but at least for me on the right track.
