Other games this weekend Round 14

Post by RagingBull »

Quins v Sale game is a bit on the duller side.
Both sides rusty which is expected.
Outside a clinical try by sale in a 10 minute stretch of Quins looking a bit off pace, Sale been second best, their back row and 9 will keep them in any game.

Wonder if Sale spending more money on a centre than a prop might be a good thing for other clubs.

Harlequins have been poor but Sale terrible. So many errors.

Ref is hot on the whistle at the break down in particular going off feet which haven’t seen before. Poaching no. 7s look key so having Reffell and Taufua on pitch should be good for us.

Come on Quins! Normally I'd be neutral on this one but seeing Manu in a Sale shirt and having to put up with Diamond's sarcastic and supercilious comments over the last few weeks, I'd be quite pleased to see Sale's title hopes dented.

Sale were atrocious.

And that performance cost them a lot of money...

Its a total miracle they didn't get a yellow card in the first half - the penalty count should have put at least one in the bin.

Apart from one good dummy run Manu anonymous if anyone wondered (down to poor service rather than his fault).

Sales lineout was particularly bad and got done at the scrum by Quins.

if the breakdown is going to be reffed like that consistently it will make games more fun to watch for sure, Sale were terrible

I don't agree with Manu - it was natural with the Tigers-tinted glasses off to watch him a little closer on the TV tonight - if you look at his in game positioning, his speed of defense and his commitment at breakdown - the whole lot showed a lack of commitment - seemingly driven by the fact he was blowing from around 5 minutes in.

Lets hope for steevie d's case they do get more games out of manu than we did, otherwise his cost per game could continue to be somewhat eye watering.

Bound to be rusty, expect to see a lot of penalties tomorrow versus the Chiefs, just hope we adapt quicker than Sale do!

Manu signed for Sale on less than what we offered him on a reduced deal... by the way.

Quins were on it, I reckon Flannery will be a good coaching addition.

Post match it was slightly bizarre to see some of the players elbow-bumping - after 80 minutes of full on rugby with scrummaging, tackling, breathing in each other's faces etc. Force of habit, I suppose

Sale were poor. They should get better but their small squad will be tested.

The breakdown was as expected reffed very tightly. I wonder if we'll try and have 10 minutes of a Wallace/Reffell/Taufua backrow tomorrow, you'd think you're guaranteed a couple of penalties.

Ditto. I have always disliked 'Dimes' immensely. Always happy to see Sale suffer a reverse
