Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE IV: A New Hope
Again a good looking squad but will take time to gel
Most of the squad are new or under 12 months old - therefore if we want to keep the Tigers Ethos we need the older players around for a while
Young’s x2, Ford, Genge, Cole, Kerr and Wells are the only senior players to have been here 3 years
Most of the younger players stepped up from the academy to development squad 2019 season : White, Olowofela, Simmons,Lewis, Aspland- Robinson,Reffell ,Heyes, Hardwick
So that’s only 7 professional players here 3 years ago!!!!

Excellent signing. I mentioned the impact that the 2 South Africans signed by Exeter had, I’m hopeful he will have the same for us, Aggression is what we need, as long as it’s controlled.
I’m sure Ellis can teach him to smile, that tends to wind the opposition up more anyway.
Looks like another comfortable at 6 or 8, was wearing 7 in South Africa, so our options at 8, Wiese, Brink, Taufua, all explosive ball carriers.
I wonder whether we may see Liebenberg used as a lock sometimes now? If so another prop would be nice then I reckon we’re about done

Yep looks about right, so again to quote the Exeter example 2 packs, who if coached properly, can compete at premiership level.RagingBull wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 9:36 am So in 2 seasons we have gone from (so far)

Plus you’ve got Kerr and Lady Gaga, with some excellent youngsters

I reckon we have a loosehead, Centre and Wiese too be announce potentially.
Maybe some other project signings.

With Lady Gaga ability to play either side to a good standard, a 6th prop of either type will do for me.
Centre I think depends on Moroni availability, we have Taute, plus some of the new additions

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE IV: A New Hope
Well we have
12. Scott, Hardwick
13. Moroni, Taute, Porter
Now we have outside backs who can cover those positions but our outside backs are not that stacked really either.

No and I totally agree with you.RagingBull wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 10:03 am
He seems to me the perfect impact sub currently.
Just because I wouldn't have him as a starter doesn't mean he isn't in the top 4.
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE IV: A New Hope
Only issue I see with the props is when there are international call-ups (Genge) together with an injury to one of the others. Then a question of whether one or more the development squad are capable of stepping up.
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE IV: A New Hope
Can I just apologise to anyone I may have offended for calling him Lady Gaga. I am aware his name is Nephi Leatigaga, I just like nick names.

It is getting more difficult isn't it? Half expecting complaints when a few people used the word 'thug' in reference to Weise.
